First I want to say I never put a bad review in my entire life . But the biopsy I had done at Radin Center gave me so much discomfort, stress and frustration that I feel I should share my experience with other women that might undergo this procedure. The biopsy was done by Dr Czaplicki , a nice , younger doctor , and it wasn’t painful at all . But even that he had the impression that my calcifications dissipate during lidocaine infiltration, suggesting beginning milk of calcium, he placed a metal titanium marker in my breast , as a standard protocol. The marker / clip migrated right away 1.5 cm , as an accident , because of the pressure applied on my boob by the X-ray machine. So I wonder , what it was actually marking at that point ? I also didn’t understand that what they call “ little marker “ on the paper they gave me to read for information, as well as in the video they played before the procedure, it is in fact a piece of metal . I guess , I wrongly assumed it was something resorbabile in time . I am allergic to metals and I started to get shooting pain in my boob and left arm . I went back to ask them to remove the metal clip , offering to pay cash for the procedure, but a staff member told me they don’t do that and I have to get breast surgery to remove it . I saw 2 breast surgeons in Clovis , who refused to do surgery to remove the marker . They said they remove it only if it is cancer , and my calcifications were benign . So I went back to Radin center to talk to the manager , who even that she seems to be a nice lady , she couldn’t help me at all . In fact I asked to talk for 5 minutes with Dr. Czaplicki , but the staff at the front desk and then the manager blocked me from seeing and talking to the doctor . I offered again to pay cash to have the metal clip removed, but the manager told me they don’t do that for 2 reasons:1) the clip is a good thing for me , I need it in my breast ( regardless the fact that it hurts me and I don’t want it in there ) and 2) they can’t vacuum it back out because they cannot see it on the ultrasound and they cannot perform the procedure. I wonder why did they put it in my breast if they cannot see it ? Then my only option was to go on Google and I am thankful I found the Bedford Breast Center , in Beverly Hills , where Dr Richardson understood my concern and she was able to remove the clip with a minimally invasive procedure, vacuuming it out through a big needle ( the same machine they use for biopsy) . I had to pay $6000 . It was quite expensive for not asking enough questions , or doing my own research online to understand that they will place a piece of metal in my breast, that is supposed to stay there forever. So be aware! You will end up with a metal clip in your breast after biopsy ( if you don’t have cancer , it will stay there forever) and it might have unknown consequences for you , because people react to the same thing in different ways .
