I came in to have them scan a cat I found for any chips. Though they (not their fault, but county law) couldn’t take her in because of where I found her, they all did as much as they could to help me out. After spending the day calling every pound or shelter across Glenn, Tehama, and Butte county, they were one of two places to hear out my concerns.
I felt welcomed as soon as I came in, and they did everything they possibly could to help out the stray I found. I can’t have any cats right now, but if I was I would take her here over anywhere else. I wish I could remember the names of the staff who helped me, but the help they gave me won’t be forgotten.

This visit was incredibly stressful for me, both emotionally and financially, but I want to thank the staff for their kindness and understanding. When we weren’t sure we could afford care, they still stepped in to at least check my pet and made sure she got the help she needed.
Because of them, my pet was able to receive the medication we had been trying so hard to get. I’m truly thankful for their compassion and willingness to help in a difficult situation.

This place always takes really good care of us. The staff are friendly and helpful. The doctors are even better. They genuinely care about you and your pet especially if you're there for an emergency. It's always immaculately clean too which is nice. Sometimes the wait can be longer then a regular vet but that's to be expected because it's an emergency/urgent care hospital. When my dog was sedated for a foxtail in her throat they noticed her nails were really long (she won't let me cut them 😂) and they grinded them down free of charge I was soooo happy. In my opinion they go above and beyond. Thank you VCA

I do cat rescue work in Shasta county. Half a week ago an ex neighbor asked me to help her with her cat because he was very ill. I guess she didn't notice until after regular hours. Cottonwood veterinary clinic charges a lot just to get started but this place only charges about $400. So the neighbor got a ride to Chico. Okay and she just texted me that the cat is better but the total for me ended up being a lot more than $400. In the middle of the night someone from Chico VCA called me and asked me for $1400. Then around 18 hours later someone there asked me for over $600. So the total bill is supposed to be over $2400. I have a good income in veteran benefits and I have some money saved up but damn that's a lot of money for a little bit of health care for one cat. I asked about veteran discount. I never got an answer. CSR BS Biology

We had to part ways with our pup and Valley oaks was nothing but kind and considerate. They cared for him through his entire sickness over the span of a few months and met us with so much compassion. Thank you all for being so kind in such a sad situation.
