My dog Annie had an emergency scare over the weekend and VCA Chico was a life saver. I was scared out of my mind that I was going to lose my best friend. I brought her in and within minutes she was in a room and getting examined. She had to stay overnight and they explained everything that was going to happen and when. Everyone was so kind and professional. I really cannot say enough good things about this facility - thank you to all 3 doctors who took care of her during the stay, the front staff and assistants 🩷 Annie is doing much better now and happy to be home resting!

Pet owners beware of bringing your pet in an emergency life or death situation. We brought our dog in an emergency she was seizing, drooling, and possibly had ingested poison. Despite the obvious critical state, no one even examined her before insisting on a $1,000 deposit. We were refused any immediate triage or treatment before paperwork. Because of that, we left and are now seeking care elsewhere. They seem to take advantage of this a lot if you look all their negative reviews they speak for themselves.

My uncle just recently put down his dog Shilo after 17 years. She was the daughter of his first miniature beagle Maggie who lived to be 15. He paid for an engraved box for Shilos ashes to be kept in. He and his wife went to pick them up tonight and the woman who helped them was inconsiderate. He had paid for this service and instead of offering to help she put it on him to fix the issue by giving him the number of the people to call. He did not pay that company, he paid this establishment, did not receive what he paid for and instead was confronted with someone who was not super willing to help. I am disappointed in the services provided, and hope that they do right by my uncle. Her supervisor was not on call and hopefully by Monday they can get things sorted. I understand that on a Friday night things cannot be handled in the same way it can on a Monday, but consideration and a soft disposition rather than an attitude can go a long way. Especially for people who are picking up their beloved animals after saying goodbye.

I’ve brought both my cats here for separate emergencies. While they’re not always able to accommodate, they do their best and try to address as many pets as they can. Both vets I saw and all the techs seem to really love animals and care about their job. They’ve done a great job at putting this panicking fur baby mom at ease.

Update I took my dog to Loomis vet this same morning cus they stated they do a pre exam which includes listening to her heart. To our wonderful surprise she was not on deaths door and has trachea issues and a level 4 heart Murmur and she left with medicine a shot to make her feel better and she came home alive. Valley Oak Vet veterinary Hospital would have put her to sleep without even checking. That’s HORO Horrific in my opinion. If I wasn’t a strong willed person not wanting to be taken advantage of even if it’s only $95. The fact they could put down a healthy dog with without even checking them they shouldn’t even be in business. This Vetrinary center price gouges you when you’re in desperate need. I took my 13 pound dog who’s in heart failure in to be put to sleep and asked them to check her heart Before putting her to sleep to make sure that her heart was bad. They came back and wanted to charge me $95 over the top of the $600 For putting her to sleep. They were going to charge to put down my dog who’s 13 pounds. I guess they don’t follow standard Vetrinary practic and check her over before just putting her to sleep cause now I’m taking her to another vet who says it’s common practice to make sure you check the dog over before you agreed to put it to sleep, but Value Oak wants to charge $95 to do something that’s supposed to be common practice. And additionally, if you get a new dog and try and take it in there, even though you’ve been a customer of them for you 15 years, they will charge you a new dog fee in excess of $250 Just to see a new dog that’s price gouging in there too My advice is run to a different vet hospital, especially if it’s an emergency Or if you can even wait, just go somewhere else cause they’re just gonna tack on more fees and more fees and more fees I’m already in a position having to put my 14 year-old dog down and they’re trying to jack up the price on something that should be included they they’re just out for the almighty buck
