My experience at the Apple Store at Pacific Centre in Downtown Vancouver was disappointing, particularly after spending considerable time with Apple Support beforehand trying to resolve an ongoing issue with my iPhone 17 Pro. To be fair, I was initially greeted politely and respectfully by a young employee at the store entrance, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the experience changed significantly once I met with the technician assigned to my appointment. The issue with my phone is intermittent freezing/unresponsiveness when attempting to activate Cellular Data or Wi-Fi. Prior to visiting the store, I had already completed troubleshooting steps with Apple Support over multiple phone calls, including software updates and device restarts. Apple Support then arranged the Genius Bar appointment for further assessment. At first, the technician appeared dismissive of the issue because the phone was functioning normally during the initial diagnostics. I repeatedly explained that the problem is intermittent and tends to occur after extended use or after the phone sits idle overnight. Despite my explanations, I felt the issue was not being fully acknowledged. At one point, I was told the freezing may have been caused by my thumb touching the screen while holding the phone. Another suggestion was that placing the phone flat on a table would avoid the issue. As someone who has owned many Apple products over the years including several iPhones currently in my household. I found these explanations difficult to accept, especially since I have never experienced this behavior on other devices. Most importantly, during the appointment, the phone eventually did freeze and the issue was reproduced in front of the technician. Despite this, I still left feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously and no meaningful resolution was offered. After returning home, I contacted Apple Support again and was advised to contact the provider associated with the Apple promotion through which the phone was received. The matter was later documented with the provider, who confirmed the device was supplied brand new and advised that Apple is responsible for warranty-related manufacturing concerns during the one-year limited warranty period. I have generally had positive experiences with Apple products over the years, which is why this interaction was particularly disappointing. Intermittent technical issues can be difficult to reproduce consistently, but when a customer has already spent significant time troubleshooting and the issue is eventually observed during the appointment itself, I believe a more attentive and customer-focused approach is warranted.

The store: - WiFi in store by staff's own admission unable to deal with transferring of iCloud data from one iPhone to another. Told it would take 2 hours and to do it at home. Staggering admission by world's leading tech company - Told to shut up and accept i) poor wifi; ii) slow reaction time of brand new phone to non-wifi related loading times. - Staff no longer assist and walk through transfer; now provided with a desk and told to get on with it - $1300 on a new phone and treated like an inconvenience Apple broadly: - Old phone (18 months) no longer working at full capacity as hardware failing. Offered $45 for trade in ($1100 18 months ago) due to a fault of their own making and responsibility - Poor durability of these products is getting worse. When new phone inevitably falls apart (likely 366 days from now) I will look elsewhere I viisted this shop 18 months ago and had a great experience. I have no idea what has happened in the interim but I will not return

My experiences at this Apple Store left me a bit disappointed. Each time I visited, it was quite difficult to get someone’s attention or feel acknowledged in the store, which made me feel somewhat invisible despite being there as a customer. I eventually placed my order online on my own and came back for the pickup. That experience was also a bit complicated: it was difficult to get someone’s attention, and once I was assisted, the service felt quite cold, quiet, and impersonal. For what was an important moment for me (my first Apple purchase), I expected a bit more warmth, engagement, or even simple acknowledgment. The service was ultimately completed correctly, but the overall experience lacked warmth and human connection.

Unfortunately my experience at this store today was beyond frustrating. Insufficient communication and information caused me to stay there for 3.5 hours unnecessarily. It’s not only uncomfortable in that store and every staff there gave me inconsistent information. Time is money and standing for 3 hours was horrible. It’s my experience and don’t get me wrong, they are all nice and friendly, but the level of knowledge and experience really varies. If you get a person who knows what they are doing, maybe you get to hear all the options before you make your decisions. But if not then you are left with confusion and frustration. Not sure what they are gonna to make sure their staff are on the same page but I hope no one ever has to waste their time like this.

I went to the Apple Store expecting a smooth and positive experience, especially when buying a new phone, but it felt surprisingly underwhelming. I asked to purchase a phone and was directed to express checkout. When it was my turn, the interaction started off awkwardly — instead of a confident or welcoming approach, the response to my questions was hesitant (“um, eh…”), which didn’t inspire much confidence or enthusiasm. While waiting for the phone, I was asked to scan a QR code, but the link didn’t open. Without asking, the staff member then began enabling cellular access for the Apple Store app on my phone, which felt inappropriate. The bigger issue came later: I learned that newer models no longer have a SIM tray. I currently use a physical SIM and wasn’t prepared to pay extra to convert to eSIM. This ultimately stopped me from completing the purchase. Nothing was terrible, but the overall experience lacked the seamless, elevated, and thoughtful feeling you’d expect — especially when considering a $2000 purchase. I left feeling disappointed and somewhat frustrated. I hope this feedback is helpful.
