Very poor customer service at the computer dpt. They just don't care. It is more important to gossip about other people and talk about summer plans than to check with a customer who is trying to get their attention.
I shopped here before and staff was really nice and decent. Now I am Disappointed.

In Dec 2025, I went to buy a laptop at the Uptown branch and I was helped by Antonio. He was 10/10! He was polite and respectful, kind and friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He listened carefully to my needs, answered all of my questions without once making me feel dumb (can't say the same thing about the manager on duty though), and provided options that best suited my needs. I left the store with my new laptop in hand, fully confident that I had made the right decision. I've been happily using it for the past few months without a single regret or issue. My sister will need a new laptop soon and hopefully Antonio is still there to help us. Regardless of where he is now, I hope he's well appreciated and compensated by his employer. Thank you, Antonio.

I dont think people work here. No one to answer phones, no one to answer question beyond typing it into their AI chat bots.
Dystopia future is upon us
Edit to the response: Unfortunately, that website is even worse. It is now impossible to contact a human being, beyond going into the store. Want to ensure that what you want is there? Gotta trust their inventory system and the online numbers (which has burned me constantly with bestbuy).
You say you removed the phones from the stores to better let the employees there assist customers, why not just hire more people?! Stop relying on chatbots and outsourced call centers and just use locals.

I called today asking to put something on hold, where i was told that you have to go online to put a hold on something. I told the lady that I am not too tech savvy, she saying no problem, I can walk you through it. I thought how awesome, yes please. She proceededs to talk me through the steps. After all this I ask, so i have to pay for it online to make the hold. Yes, she tells me. Very disappointing to get off the phone as if I had those options I would not be making the call and its not really putting something aside for you for a few hours..
It would have been nice to hear, sorry ma'am, we can not put any items on hold at Best Buy, you must make the purchase to have anything set aside.
Just saying, straight forward communication goes much further with people. That only felt like a waist of time and energy.

BEST BUY – UPTOWN, VICTORIA, BC 🇨🇦
Was impressed with the professionalism, positive energy, and customer attention provided by JASJIT at BEST BUY UPTOWN.
The store itself was HUGE — well organized, brightly lit, clean, and easy to navigate.
However, it honestly felt a bit like a ghost town because there were hardly any customers and almost no staff visible on the floor except for JASJIT at the counter.
He noticed us looking around and immediately asked if we needed help. After we told him what we were looking for, he pointed us in the right direction, picked up the phone, and said he would send someone over to assist us.
While waiting, we continued checking and comparing products ourselves. After about 15 minutes or more, no one came to help, so we eventually proceeded to the counter on our own.
JASJIT asked whether someone had assisted us. When we said no one came, he sincerely apologized and explained that he couldn’t leave the cash register unattended to personally help us.
Despite the disappointing lack of assistance from the other BEST BUY staff, we still left feeling good simply because ONE employee showed genuine concern, courtesy, and attentiveness.
The reason why I’m giving this a 5-star review is because of how JASJIT made us feel as customers — acknowledged, welcomed, and genuinely cared for.
That kind of service leaves a lasting impression — and it absolutely deserves acknowledgment.
“People may forget what they bought, but they will always remember how they were treated.”
