    Outstanding Customer Service – Thank You Jacob & Jerry! I want to share a huge thank you to Jacob at the Best Buy Nanaimo store for spending countless hours with me helping sort out a mix-up with my phone plan. From start to finish, Jacob went above and beyond, showing patience, kindness, and genuinely amazing customer service. With the approval and support of Jerry, the store manager, they were able to accommodate me not just once, but twice with a phone solution. On top of that, I was pleasantly surprised with a $250 gift card, especially since my bill barely increased — something I truly did not expect. I’ve purchased every one of my phones and electronics from Best Buy since I moved to the island in 2012, and experiences like this are exactly why I continue to shop there and recommend Best Buy to my friends. Yes, you may have to wait in line sometimes, but my only advice would be to make the cell phone department larger, because the staff clearly work incredibly hard to help everyone.     The other day I came into the store to buy a top up card for Chatr at the phone counter. I was trying to transfer my daughters cell phone plan onto mine as chatr is a terrible cell phone provider with zero customer service. Have to go to a proper store to even get your account number to transfer. The guy at the Bell booth in the mall didn’t seem interested in contacting them to fix the problem of a text going through, so we could make the switch. Anyways, I got fantastic help from a gentleman named Liam (at least I think that’s his name), saved me $40 and called chatr 4 times for us, as the calls kept dropping, and the general public can’t just call. Helped me solve the problem and made my life way better. Gotten some great service, but he really stepped up and saved the day. Thanks Liam! And don’t use Chatr, haha

    I ordered a TV for my elderly Mom. The tv was left outside for hours in the cold propped up against the house on its side (LCD tvs should always be right side up). The delivery driver did not ring or knock. No notification to tell us it arrived. The box was dented and damaged with a fist size hole punched in the front of it where the screen is located. You could see that the box was previously opened and re-taped, yet this item was never disclosee to be "open box". I called to ask for an exchange. 1st agent sent a Canada Post label and said that a Purolator agent will come get it (lol what??). 2nd agent said he dispatched a driver to pick up tv within 24 to 48 hours and will have a new one delivered (that was a flat out lie as nobody showed up). 3rd agent said the only option is to return for a refund. Time spent for $150 off a tv wasn't worth it. Best Buy online shopping is a headache. Terrible service. Horrible experience. Never again.

    Do NOT pay for any form of coverage through Best Buy. I got excited 2 years ago on black friday and was swindled into a protection plan that has cost me at least half the value of my cellphone, and I am just realizing I was signed up for 3 years on a 2 year contract for my phone itself, so I am locked into another 300$ for legitimately nothing. When I have needed help with said protection plan the kids at the geek squad counter just tell me to phone a robot (Go ahead and try calling the number provided, and you will see how frustrating it is trying to actually solve a problem through this automatic system) or go to their website. Don't get too excited this black friday.
