  My town's Best Buy does not have a Geek Squad, so I travelled to Kamloops. I was looking for a new laptop that would suit my education needs: including video creation, programming, 3D design, and AI development. Getting there by medical bus was simple. There is an entrance from outside that is wheelchair accessible, as is the entire store. There were a few customers ahead of me, but the wait was only ten minutes. The GS employee had difficulty understanding what I was saying, at first, but was straightforward enough to help me decide to salvage my drives and recycle my old laptop. Another associate helped me look into getting a new device. It took about twenty minutes, due to the complications of rural shipping addresses, and the inability of Best Buy to have my new computer shipped to my local branch... All they could do was try to send it directly to my home. Nevertheless, they gave me a significant discount on an already discounted, lightly-used open box product that suited my needs, as well as on the protection plan. That is greatly appreciated! After that, the Geek Squad member returned to help me find the peripherals I needed to access my extracted drives. I feel that the two employees who helped me tried to be courteous, but seemed skeptical at first, perhaps thinking that I might be a homeless person. I have Osteogenesis Imperfecta, am ambulatory, and in even mild winters I wear a snowsuit to keep warm enough, and dry if I fall while standing. I recommend their employees be trained in interactions with PwDs (if not already), and engage customers by the latter's actions rather than their clothing. Other than that, I think it was a good experience. I will look to them for my tech needs in the near future.

  Extreme lack of communication. Ordered an Apple Pencil, when the order was placed at the store, was told January 2nd it will arrive. Got there Jan 2nd and they told me the order hasn’t been placed yet and will arrive sometime from January 5th-6th. Keeping in mind it was placed on December 30th and the pencil was coming from Vernon. Got a call 10:30 January 5th saying my pencil has arrived and is ready for pick up. Got there at 11:30 and they said it wasn’t there, and accused me of fabricating the phone call, even after showing them the call logs and calling the number in front of them bringing me to Best Buy Canada’s answering service. Not sure who the manager is there, but he shrugged off and said there isn’t anything he can do. So after 2 trips and 2 failed times to get my order they still can’t get anything right. Hours of my time driving and in store wasted, fuel there and back and still nothing yet. Disappointed it has been this way, will never use Best Buy again.
