This is a warning for anyone ordering online through bestbuy.ca, then selecting an in-store pickup: Don't trust the system. I ordered an item online, selected the pick-up option, which gave me the choice of three local Best Buys, including Station Square (green check marks next to the store locations). I chose the Station Square store and paid. Best Buy sends me an email that the order is received and to wait until their next message that the order is ready for pick up. Nothing unusual here. I've done in-store pickup many times. However, I get a message three hours later from Best Buy with "Good news, your order has shipped". It has the correct order number on it along with a tracking number and an expected delivery date of the next day (Nov 20). I'm puzzled and wonder if it's a phishing message, so I log back into my account on bestbuy.ca and see the same update that it's being shipped with FedEx to my name and the city and postal code of the Station Square store (the "shipping address" doesn't have any mention that it's being shipped to the Best Buy location, just my name and a postal code I track down as the store's). But, I've never had a problem with a pick-up before, so just assume everything will work out. Next day, I log in to my Best Buy account to see if there's an update, and under my order number, it states that the order was "delivered." I don't have it and the store hasn't contacted me. I give it a couple of hours. Nothing happens. I look for a phone number for the store, and can only find a general 1-866- number, which has a wait time of over 30 minutes. Instead, I contact Best Buy's customer service through their chat portal. The service rep is bewildered by what's happening with the pick up. This chat session takes almost 30 minutes, then they respond that the store should get the order the next day, Nov 21 (doesn't make sense since it looks like it's been delivered earlier that day Nov 20), and the store will contact me that same next day (Nov 21). Nov 21, it's evening, and I have no message from the store. I log into my Best Buy account, and it's the same status as the last time: Delivered (Nov 20). So, I go to the store to see where the heck this package is. The pick-up counter looks up my order number on their system and can't find it. Then they try by my name. Can't find it. They move to another computer that's logged into a different system. Can't find it. The clerk says I ordered it to be shipped to this store, and I said I didn't. I selected "pick up in store" and not "ship"; three stores came up (green checkmarks), and I selected Station Square. If I had wanted it shipped, I would have sent it to my workplace or home. They contact a supervisor. It's now about 25 minutes since I showed up. I'm tired and puzzled. They go into the back where the pick-up items are. Then come out a few minutes later with the package. The return address on it is the "Western Canada Service Depot, Best Buy Canada" in Langley, BC, and the "to" address is my name, (no mention of Best Buy Station Square), the address of the store, and my phone number. The clerk opens the package and shows me the contents. Then she wants to record my driver's license number. I don't want them to retain personal ID since I don't know what they're going to do with it. I'm really not impressed. I tell her that it seemed the depot just decided to ship it here, so could they just give me the package. She tells her supervisor that I had it shipped to this store and entered the store's address on the order. I tell her and the supervisor that I didn't. I selected "pick up in store" and then selected Station Square. She wasn't there when I ordered it. I didn't write in any address on the order. Obviously this was the depot moving inventory to a local store, but that process should have been invisible to me and not have altered the in-store pickup process. Way to screw this up, Best Buy, and blame a customer for something you got wrong.

I truly hate to leave of one star review, but this is warranted on my visit to the Metrotown Best Buy on the evening of Nov 20,2025. The sales rep Daya that was assisting me look at desktop computers was very kind and helpful. Sadly he confirmed the advertising for the black Friday sale in Asus 27" all in one computer 1tb advertising was incorrectly stating $400 off whereas I was clearly led to believe discounted from $1099(price stated before sale started). I showed him the email that I received 6 hours before black Friday sale started that led me to believe it’s $400 off but after he talked to the manager, who said it just a glitch as the regular price is $1499(BUT not stated anywhere as seen in attached photos). Definitely mislead and feel a little bit of bait and switch when clearly I saw the regular price before the sale started was showing $1099.. Which led me to conclude it was on sale for Black Friday $699. This was the sole reason I had quickly redeemed visa scene points to buy this asap. As stated, I recently converted my scene points to around four gift cards for Best Buy totalling around $1200 hoping to use it for Black Friday sales . When I called customer service they confirmed I can only use two cards per transaction online and the only way to consolidate these 4 cards into 2 cards is going in the store. So a friend and I proceeded to the Metrotown Best Buy. This was obviously disappointing but the greatest cause of my grief was as follows: When we got to the cashier and explained I like to consolidate these 4 gift cards...lady said can’t do that and some team leader came over smirked saying that can not do that in which I pleaded I was told I could and did in the past as online only takes 2 gift cards. He only responded no we don’t do that here. I asked if can I please talk to a manager and he proclaimed that he is the manager and there’s nothing we’re gonna do about it for you. The tone of his voice was so rude as if I was some kind of worthless no good customer completely wasting his valuable time and wanted me to just leave. I felt very humiliated, and thought how could this person that has a name tag clearly labelled team leader pretend to be the manager and be so condescending? Not wanting to escalate this further, I asked one of the cashiers what if I bought something with these four gift cards and then turn around w the new item and returned it...can you not give me a gift card for the total amount of 1200? She said yes but w a very annoying frown facial expression. When I proceeded to look for an item to buy and return so I can get 2 or 1 gift card to conveniently use....all of a sudden, I can see many staff members smirking and and staring at me. It was as if they all talked in their little communication devices mocking me that I'm about steal something or do something untowards. The way everybody was staring at me made it seem like I’m some kind of criminal or shoplifter... I was not imagining things cause I walked throughout the store. I kept on getting glaring looks so obviously I feel very uncomfortable so we just decided to leave.. I’m completely flabbergasted at the treatment that I received tonight. Of all the years, I’ve shopped at Best Buy and spent a lot of money. I am completely turned off by their behavior today. Totally unacceptable. What happened to the great customer service you once had!???

I want to say a big thank you to the two Chinese guys who helped me today at Best Buy. I don’t know their names, but they were so nice, so friendly, and very professional. They talked to me kindly and gave me all the information I needed about buying a laptop. They helped me with everything, and I really appreciate their patience. Especially the shorter guy — he was extremely kind and helpful. You can see that they love their job and know exactly what they are doing. Thank you so much, guys. You’re amazing! 🙏💙

I usually never write reviews but It was such a great in store experience for me, I was looking for an espresso machine since a long time and walked in store to purchase the one that I researched about. I looked around the store but could not find it and then one of worker by the name Vanshik helped me out. He immediately understood what I was looking for and told me that it is available in store and within minutes he got me the item and carried it to the checkout. I must say that such service by the staff is a great example for excellent customer service.

Ordered online and said items in stock but cannot take off the shelf. Need to wait for their warehouse order. What's the point of showing it in stock if it's getting shipped by the warehouse. Requested a phone call when items arrive but Roland refused to call me when my order arrives.
