I have had great experiences at VCA. From an emergency visit to making them our regular vet clinic. Dr Ashenfelter has been amazing in caring for my cat. Just 4 months ago she was very sick and unwell. Dr A recommended we see a specialist for further testing and she stayed in contact with that Dr and myself through all of it. We now have a treatment plan with Dr A and my sweet baby is doing great. I am extremely grateful and appreciative for all her care and support. Dr A is definitely the best.

VCA is the WORST vet clinic and I will NEVER ever take another pet there again. I have recently discovered that VCA is owned by the Mars family and is nothing but a greedy disgusting corporation that absolutely puts profits and money ahead of pet care. Based on my experience, they do not care if your pet is sick. They only care about how much money they can get from you. Pets are treated like objects. DO NOT and I mean DO NOT take your pet to VCA if you want. your pet to live if your pet is sick.. After charging over $4,000 for 24 hour hospitalization of my cat and pressuring me to pay more money during his care, VCA accelerated the deterioration of my cat Winston who was able to move, jump around, and sit next to me prior to the gross incompetent care that led to pressure by them to euthanize him. The only thing I heard during Winston's hospitalization was demands for more money for more care and treatments and how poorly he was doing under their care. In fact, I was told that unless I paid more money, I needed to pick up my cat 5 hours before the 24 hours I paid for was up and that they would take the feeding tubes out.
My cat had hepatic lipitosis (liver disease) which 70-90% cats can fully recover from if properly treated. Unfortunately, due the incompetent care and poor judgment exercised by the once-a-month temp vet and day-time tattooed vet, Winston became a vegetable. He clearly was not properly treated because treatments should not make a pet deathly sick.
The staff I dealt with at VCA were uncompassionate and had little or no empathy. The tattooed day vet who euthanized my cat had absolutely no explanation or theory for how my cat went from being able to move and jump around in the examination room to being in a comatose state after they injected him with feeding tubes and whatever else they did to him that made him even sicker. The vet could not explain what would have caused my cat to have a stomach blockage so he could not eat or digest food. Nor did they refer me to another vet with critical care that could have performed surgery if needed. Instead, they told me there was nothing they could do as I was pressured to sign euthanization forms. The vets that cared for Wintson exercised very poor judgment in treating him because there is no way any pet should end up much more sicker when treated. Winston had a fever and numerous other problems that did not exist prior to bringing him there.
I asked to speak to the overnight vet Lesley Ash after my cat was euthanized. I learned that Ash comes in once a month and was told I would have to wait 1 MONTH to speak to her again even though she had my phone number as she had no problem leaving messages for how poorly Winston was doing under her care.
I WISH my cat had NEVER been taken there as he would likely be alive today.
STAY AWAY from any vet clinic owned by the MARS family especially VCA. Your pet deserves better.

VCA McCormick ranch has done a wonderful job taking care of many of our pets throughout the years, and their staff’s care and attention to our animals is one of the main things that keeps us coming back. Dawn is one of the best I have ever worked with, and her care and consideration both inside and outside of VCA with my little yorkie is 2nd to none, absolutely wonderful!

Had to take my cat in for a uti and was very worried about a urinary blockage. Staff was extremely friendly! Dr. Boyle is extremely attentive, reassuring, and very thorough. She walked me through all of her recommendations and explained why each test was being done. After initial examination they were able to give me a rough estimate of costs from all the test and medications that would be given. Highly recommended VCA for 24/7 care. Will definitely be back if I ever have an emergency.

My dogs mean the world to me and I have been taking them to VCA McCormick Ranch Animal Hospital for over five years. My pups are both rescues -- one is a little timid and the other suffers from seizures and valley fever. Both get so happy and relaxed when they hear Dawn Parson's voice. Dawn always takes excellent care of my dogs.
When my younger dog got valley fever, it is was awful. He wouldn't move and had a large abscess in his chest. We were at the vet every day to have the abscess checked, drained, and cleaned. Dawn took care of him and made sure that I understood his illness, the required procedures, dressings, and medicines. She is extremely knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate. Dawn and Dr. Roberts make an excellent team and I know that Cosmo would not have survived without their care.
The reception and medical teams are great, but Dawn is the superstar!
