I've been sitting in the store for four hours while my phone transfers. My overall experience has been so horrific that I don't even want to re-tell it. But I'll tell you about the other people that walked in while I was here and how they treated them.
A gentleman came in -- a 22 year customer -- showing a cheaper rate from a competitor, and the Verizon person no only wouldn't help them, but didn't tell them about VISIBLE, which is Verizon's pre-paid product at 1/3rd the cost. But they CAN'T TELL A CUSTOMER THIS or they'd get fired. They guy was asking exactly for a pre-paid cheaper plan. I told the man about it when the rep stepped away.
An older lady walked in after an hour on the phone with customer support talking to an AI that kept her in a loop. After waiting 20 minutes to talk to a human, she came to a store. The punk at the door was mean, dismissive, and told her to use the app. She doesn't use the app because she's not comfortable. She's not sitting in the store talking on the phone to a phone rep because that's all they'd do for her.
In my entire time sitting here, no offer of water, or how I'm doing, or to watch my phones or lock them up while they transferred to I could get a drink or a snack. Just to see if it was done so they could take the other phone.
The other day, when I was in the midst of my two-week misery with them, and they had told me to call support, I did, and they told me to go in the store, so I did, with the phone rep on the phone and put them on speaker so they could sort it out. The people in the store were so disgustingly rude and dehumanizing to the ONLY PERSON WHO WAS HONEST AND ACTUALLY TRIED TO HELP ME.
The reps here are evaluated on Sales, Upgrades, Accessories, Plan Revenue, and Insurance Attachment. They *DON"T CARE* about you, your actual needs or requirements. They WILL NOT give you TRUTH if it might risk the sale.
My recourse after two weeks of this torment... "Call the loyalty department".
Something about this environment sucks the humanity out of the people who work here. If you make a suggestion about any possible improvement, all they do is give you excuses about rules, policies, etc. "We can't help this sweet old lady with changing her credit card because we can't touch financial information" ... even though they happily took my credit card. It's so pathetic.
You simply can't trust anything they tell you. Nothing...not the prices, plans, time, nor weather.
I've set my calendar reminder for when my new plan runs out and my new phone is paid off. I don't know what I'll do exactly, but there is no way in the world that I'd ever walk back into this store to do anything. I'll probably keep my phone for six or seven years but switch to a pre-paid alternative online just to save myself from the hell and lost hours of my life dealing with this.
One last point.. the reps should stop casually saying things like "Sure thing man", or "OK Man". I'm not a child, and I'm not your friend. I'm an *actual* man, who is honest with people, cares about people, and doesn't lie to people. Unlike the children here.
