  Tried to sell my wife a $1000 laptop. Instead of replacing a $40 battery. All Geek Squad had to do was open the old laptop and see that the battery needed replacing. Use AI and a good tutorial and fix it yourself.

  Never really one to leave a bad review but I’m shocked. I came in Monday and wanted to get more information about how the process looked as I have never used Geek Squad before and had heard great things. Marc let me know they check the computer without charge for what’s going on and I go buy the part and bring it to them to replace and they charge based on the part replacement. I made the appointment with him and I come in for my appointment today and they’re telling me that they charge $200 to open the computer parts and look it at to see what’s going on. The person helping me asked Marc about what I previously mentioned and he said he doesn’t remember saying that. I really would’ve appreciated being told upfront the first time I initially came in specifically to know what the process was for me to bring in my device. It’s not about the money being charged it’s about the customer service and being upfront and honest with customers not just telling me one thing to book an appointment. Thanks but no thanks. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

  Geek Squad a total bust - went to get my phone screen fixed which I entered as my need when I made the appointment - showed up, took 20 minutes for them to say they couldn't fix it and I had to go to Apple. It would have been great had the been transparent about what they will and will not fix prior to my wasting my time and theirs.
