I have to give this Red Deer Best Buy a 3.75 star blast, but let’s round it up to 4 for the sake of Google being afraid of math. Actually, it's because of the original purchase. Ok, so let’s break this down: The good: I can’t tell you the name of the young guy who helped early on in November when I bought my Mac mini (plus two monitors and a mouse). Earlier tonight I lost the receipt I had brought with me earlier today, but it doesn’t matter anymore. I know I’m in the system for potential warranty work, as it’s 2025 and I have identification that shows I am who I am to cross reference with their system. But he went above and beyond to make sure things went smoothly during the purchase, in spite of not getting by “old guy” humour. The weak: When I bought my Mac mini (and other items), I was offered the opportunity to come back at 2:00pm on November 19th at 2pm (and they were oddly specific about the time, as though I couldn’t show up earlier or later) for a VIP experience, which I think was a pre-Black Friday thing. They said, “You will be assigned a “blue shirt” person who will help you out exclusively with your visit. Whether it’s an adjustment to your purchase today (at the time that I made the purchase originally) or the best deal on something you need, you’ll have early access!” Welp, I showed up at 2:02pm (thank you 1:55 bus that was 5 minutes late)(yeah, I took two busses to get there). I jogged most of the distance in the ice and snow in one of the worst-designed parking lots in Red Deer, to the location. I got in there just in time to realize, “maybe I’m early in a sense… ok good.” There was no one waiting for me. A bundled up couple stepped in just ahead of me, and they wandered off but came back a minute or two later, just in time to get helped. A guy that came in behind me got helped. So I stood there for about 5 mins or so until a non “blue shirt” asked me if I needed any help. I believe he was a stock guy who had helped wheel out items on a trolley to ppl’s cars. I informed him that I was waiting for a blue shirt (I air-quoted it). He said he could help, and I guess he kinda did. I said I had a receipt from a purchase from a couple weeks ago and had been told of a possible price adjustment if I came in today, He directed me to Customer Service to see what price adjustment might happen. I did that. After a couple of minutes, I was told there were no price adjustments related to my purchases. It was at that time that I appreciated their time (I did), and I wandered over to the area where I figured I might find keyboards. After going to the wrong keyboard area (Windows based), I eventually found the Mac keyboard area. Looked at some keyboards. Stood around for a few mins. I realized at that point that even if someone did approach me (I believe there were a couple employees staring at their mobile devices), I wasn’t going be given any kind of VIP experience. And then I strolled back to the front of the store, took a mini KitKat from the “VIP bowl” that literally 100% of people had access to at the front entrance, and left. Not sure how that qualified as a VIP experience. I will be telling everyone from here on out not to fall for the VIP trap. It is meaningless. Absolutely nothing matters. Just an excuse to get people to come back in, even if they never really needed to. This was my only day off in a while. And I don't drive.

What a great experience at this Best Buy store. I had purchased a new video card that was supposed to come bundled with a free game, and I would received a code in my email. I went back to the store and they were prompt in helping me out, but unfortunately it didn't work. I returned to the store, not realizing that the promotion was over and there is probably nothing that could be done. The staff were so helping and understanding and were able to help resolve the issue! Wonderful experience, and people in this store. 5/5 will shop again.

I am NOT someone with a lot of money. It took me years. But I saved up. . The choice came up to decide between a a computer a phone. What my aspirations are...I choose computer. However, not just any computer. This has been a long time goal for me. So I finally went in, spent a lot. The really sad and super disappointing thing is.. I had to return it I really wish I was joking. I have to spare the details. . Like immediately!!!!!!! OH..DID I MENTION I DON'T DRIVE!!! These people are literally impossible to get ahold of. So.. (Trying not to rant/ as I rant) So I'm sorry..I will say this a few times in my review "DONT BUY EXPENSIVE ELECTRONICS FROM BEST BUY!!!!" Second computer ..(first one open box even though I bought new) it's been non stop problems. I bought a gamer tower. I don't game..but I require a dedicated graphics card.. This computer is bullshit. I pay for monthly maintenance..I get no help..it runs slow..I just bought it..on top of that..they charge me just under $30 for..idk.. dollars a month until I believe June to August 2026. So they're getting like 600 plus dollars from me for nothing. I went in early on and tried to cancel and they laughed at me. . Geek squad doesn't come to your house despite you paying all this money. That's an additional $60. THIS REVIEW PROBABLY COSTS ME SO.E SORT OF MONEY. Did I mention ,there's no phone number to call them..I feel so messed over all this. So I can't afford to eat but I have to to pay BEST BUY #30 monthly for nothing, for anther 5 to 7 months however..they don't take calls..charge an additional $60+ to come to your home. Oh did I mention there's no phone nmber and this computer is apparently brand new.. bought this computer twice?. Don't shop there
