- MGM GodlewskiOct 20, 20255.0A marathon was going on in Milwaukee so the google directions were stopped by the cop closing off the street. We ended up heading North on ferry interstate exit road to Bay street and under the interstate to the port. Waited in line for personal to check vehicles. Then exited vehicle to board the ship. When boarding I suggest getting in the middle row not by the windows if you get sea sick! You can walk outside if you want to see or go up on the sundeck. Don’t eat beforehand if the waves are rough. Eat when you get across. We saw numerous people using barf bags. Two ships were crossing our path so we slowed down to let them cross. It surprised me when the ship became more violent with the rocking of the waves. There is a map at the back of the ship cabin that shows where the ship is in the crossing process. It takes about 2 hours to cross the water. Be ready for this amount of time. We had a snack from our backpack as we got very close to Michigan, but I would not recommend any eating before hand. Check out the wonderland distillery in muskegon for a cool drink experience.

The staff was pleasantly friendly, helpful, and professional. Having quality high speed internet is a game changer as well, even at $15/trip. Food was not at all bad either as I had a pretty solid breakfast burrito.
