Service was great. Embarking and debarking went well. We happened to have a rougher ride, so seasickness was a problem among passengers, but staff were pleasant and caring in that environment. Would definitely do it again!

We were on the morning ferry from Milwaukee to Muskegon with some unsettling waters - predicted 3-5 foot waves. By the end of the trip many people were green with seasickness. All staff was so attentive to everyone, running around trying to care for all on board. Matthew was an absolute gem, he continued to smile and had such a pleasant voice through it all. I highly recommend the ferry, however I do not recommend the waves.

It was okay. If you use a wheelchair or rollator they use an elevator and you're separated from the driver. Smooth crossing on a mild day. You park and drive off yourself and it's really tight. Pay extra for the premier lounge.

🌊 LAKE EXPRESS FERRY REVIEW: OUR TRIP BACK TO MICHIGAN! 🌅
Beautiful views as we left Wisconsin aboard the Lake Express! The sunset across the water was absolutely gorgeous, and once again, we had a great experience.
Lily was our cabin stewardess in Premier and she was wonderful! Very efficient, friendly, attentive and made sure we were comfortable throughout the trip.
❄️❄️ IMPORTANT: IT IS VERY COLD ON BOARD! BRING A JACKET, SWEATER OR EVEN A SMALL BLANKET! ❄️❄️
THE CABINS CAN TAKE QUITE A WHILE TO WARM UP, SO DO NOT BOARD EXPECTING IT TO BE WARM RIGHT AWAY!
We were told the boat is kept very cool and that the different cabin areas can take time to heat up. Either way, TRUST ME, come prepared! 😂
We experienced both seating options, and both cabins are very nice, but there is definitely a difference.
⭐ PREMIER CABIN
Premier was probably about three times warmer than the regular cabin during our experience. The seating is comfortable, spacious and reclines, and you have:
• Cabin stewardess service
• A bathroom conveniently located closer to the Premier cabin
• FREE Wi-Fi
• FREE nonalcoholic beverages
• A quieter, more private atmosphere
• Beautiful window views
⭐ REGULAR CABIN
The regular cabin is also very nice, clean and comfortable with plenty of windows and great views. Just remember, IT WAS MUCH COLDER IN THERE DURING OUR TRIP!
The entire boat was impressively clean, the boarding process was easy, and the Lake Express facility itself was immaculate.
The staff throughout our experience were excellent, friendly and genuinely helpful. You really get the feeling that they care about their passengers.
And those views! Sitting back in the reclining chairs looking through the window at the sunset-lined water was such a beautiful way to end the day. 🌅❤️
Whether you are traveling with family, friends or even for business, Lake Express is a great way to shave time off that long drive around Lake Michigan and make the travel itself part of the experience.
⭐ OUR BIGGEST TIP: BRING SOMETHING WARM TO WEAR! EVEN IF IT IS HOT OUTSIDE, YOU MAY BE VERY GLAD YOU DID! 😂🧥
Great trip. Beautiful views. Excellent staff. And a special thank you to Lily for taking such great care of us in Premier! ❤️🌊

If using the ferry is a frequent transit dependency it can be pricey; however, for us it was part of our adventure to cross Lake Michigan for a half circle tour. The staff was very friendly and the boarding process for individuals and drivers is very efficient. We decided to upgrade to the premium cabin and found it a worthwhile value. The seats were more comfortable, we had a waiter staff for food orders and a private bathroom area in the cabin.
We left from Milwaukee to Muskegon and while the vessel's car hold was full, it didn't feel crowded onboard or on the outside decks. We were fortunate and had very calm waves. The sunrise on the 0600 outbound was amazing.
I've read some reviews dinging the vessel for the wave actions, but travelers should be aware it's not a large cruise ship and even 5-6 ft waves will rock things around.
We would travel on the ferry again, it was fast efficient and a fun experience crossing the lake.
