I do not recommend Big Burns Moving LLC. Our move was originally scheduled for 12:00–2:00 PM. Around 3:00 PM, we were told they would probably be there in another hour and a half. Then, at 4:00 PM, they called to say they would not be coming at all and asked to reschedule for 12:00 PM the following day. At that time, they offered a $50 discount for having to reschedule, which we appreciated and accepted in good faith. My mother was ready at noon the next day as agreed. After trying to reach them, we finally heard back around 1:00 PM and were told they had to take care of another family first. I reminded Steve that they had specifically rescheduled us for 12:00 PM because they were unable to make it the day before. As the afternoon went on, we continued hearing “a couple more hours,” and the $50 discount was mentioned again while we were repeatedly being told they were running behind. However, no one ever showed up. By 5:00 PM, I contacted Steve and told him we had no choice but to make other arrangements because my mother had to turn in the keys to her apartment by 8:00 PM. His response was that he didn’t realize she was on a timeline. I explained that I didn’t know I needed to point that out—we had originally been scheduled to move the day before, which would have given us plenty of time. Because they never showed, my mother couldn’t return her keys until the following day and ended up having to pay additional fees. I understand that unexpected situations happen, but the lack of communication, repeated delays, and failure to honor two scheduled moving dates were extremely unprofessional. Instead of taking responsibility, we were made to feel as though their scheduling problems had become ours, and much of the conversation focused on the difficulties they were having rather than the impact on my mother. Thankfully, they did not require a deposit, or we would have been out that money as well. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company. I think that’s a reasonable clarification. I’d avoid sounding defensive and simply correct the record with facts. That tends to be more persuasive to people reading reviews. Update after the owner’s response: I appreciate that the owner responded, and I completely understand that emergencies happen. We were understanding when we were told an employee passed out from a possible heatstroke, which is why we agreed to reschedule for 12:00 the following day without complaint. This is the time that Steve offered to us for the next day, not a time frame; 12:00 pm. However, I do want to clarify a few statements. We were not kept updated throughout the day. The only updates we received were what we reached out for. We repeatedly had to call and text for updates because we weren’t receiving them. We also weren’t told to find another moving company until around 5:00 p.m. on the second day when I contacted Steve—only about three hours before my mother had to turn in the keys to her home. By that point, finding another mover on such short notice was unrealistic. The owner also mentioned that we didn’t tell them we had a deadline. We booked the move for the day before the house had to be turned over specifically to allow plenty of time. When that was rescheduled, we were given a 12:00 p.m. arrival time the next day, which still should have left ample time. I didn’t think I needed to explain that I had a deadline when I was scheduling a move for the day before and then was given a specific arrival time by the company. My review is based solely on our experience. The issue was never the employee getting sick/hurt—it was the lack of communication, the repeated delays, and the failure to provide the service on either scheduled moving date.

I will NEVER use the people again.....the 2 drivers was 2 hours late.....then the driver had the nerve to say he was going to stop at the gas station while my personal items was on back of the truck.... ABSOLUTELY NOT !!! If you know you have a move coming up they should already have fuel in the truck before arrive to your customers this also makes the bill higher because they charge by the hour...then the driver tried to say 3 hour minimum but I already spoke to the owner he gave me 2 hour 2.30 and 3 hour prices...my move took 2 hours but the driver was tryn to get me to pay 3 hours.....then the owner said let the driver know that I wanted him to follow me so we could arrive at the destination together he wanted to do whatever he wanted to do...he was very rude and not professional 👎....but the guy that he was training was very nice and professional that's why I tipped him and not the driver...
