Very disappointing experience with the estimate process. Kim came to our home last Thursday to provide an estimate for our upcoming four-bedroom-house move and told us we would have the quote in our inbox that evening. It is now the following Wednesday, and we have received no estimate and no communication at all.
Our move is extremely time-sensitive, and we relied on the timeframe we were given while deciding which company to use. After waiting nearly a week, we had to contact another moving company. By that point, our needed moving date was no longer available, and we now have to move the contents of our entire home a full week early and put everything into storage.
I understand that companies get busy. What I don’t understand is promising a quote by a specific time and then not sending it—or even contacting the customer to say there is a delay. We were prepared to hire a full-service mover for a substantial move. Unfortunately, this experience gave us no confidence that we could rely on Carey with something this important.
