  Terrible experience with this company. I recently moved from Jackson, MS to Columbus, OH after completing my medical residency. That is only a 12 hour drive, but I used a company since my new job would reimburse moving expenses. Bean Moving & Storage is associated with Atlas Van Lines which is a reputable company. I coordinated the move with Jimmy who initially was very helpful. They were on time for the pickup and for the most part packed my belongings well. They were supposed to have my stuff to me within 2 weeks at the very latest. It did not arrive until after 4 weeks. I lived in my new apartment with one patio chair and a blow up mattress for 4 weeks. I repeatedly called Jimmy to check in who told me the van had filled and he was looking into other options. Several times, he told me he would call me back the next day, but he never did and I had to keep calling him. Because it was so late, I also had to go and buy new professional clothing because I started my new job without any of my clothes. After my stuff finally arrived, I discussed with Jimmy how they would compensate for the delay. He said it would be reflected in my final charges, but it was not. They quoted me $3000-4000 based on how much I packed on my own and I ended up paying ~3400 for a 12 hr move of a 1 bedroom apartment of which I packed quite a bit on my own. I asked Jimmy if he could compensate the delay with a gift card which he stated he would send. I emailed him weekly for 2 occasions of which he responded it would be in the mail soon. The last email I sent him, he never responded to and I never received a gift card. I found him to be completely unreliable, unprofessional, and dishonest. It is a shame, because I am a new physician who will likely have several moves throughout my career, but I would never use their service again. I was able to place a delayed claim through ATLAS. If you are moving, would not recommend to use the local moving company and just go straight with ATLAS or another large company instead.
