My family and friends are extremely pleased with how efficiently and professionally Jamie B, Tommy G, and Caiden H from BEK handled this move to two different houses. They were communicative and made every effort to ensure placement was perfect. Shout out to the boys for working so dilligently and soothing the nerves of my anxious mother!

The entire experience was great. From the initial visit to see the contents and plan the move through to the move itself, the team at BEK was very thorough and professional. We also used their rental box service, and that made our move very smooth. Blake, the owner made a visit during the day to make sure everything was going to our satisfaction. I will recommend BEK to anyone who asks!

These guys are super easy to work with. Every question was answered with either a “sir” or “ma’am“. No high pressure sales or extra fees included. I did pay a little extra to have my pinball machine and my Hammond organ moved but with the way they wrapped everything and made sure it got here in one piece was worth it. (It was only an extra $300 anyway.) ;-) Everyone that I spoke with, either on the phone or in person, was professional and accommodating and very understanding. I also like the fact that this is a local, small business and I was glad to support them.

We used BEK to move from St. Louis to Kansas City about a month ago, and the process could not have been smoother. The guys were so professional and took care of absolutely everything. They packed our belongings, loaded the truck, drove to Kansas City, and unloaded. They even put our bed frames and kitchen table back together! Kalind and Daiten were our main crew members, and they were such hard workers. We absolutely recommend their services! We are still talking about what a great job they did. The price was beyond fair for the service they provide.

They would have been a 3 star review, but the client relations personnel that we emailed with after the move were completely unhelpful and out of line. BEK came highly rated from a family member that used them twice. The day started off well. Your crew was on time, they all introduced themselves, and they got to work quickly. While they were fast, they were NOT careful. They took some things in the laundry room (like our iron) that we did not tell them to take because it was loose and not boxed up. They ended up packing it, dropped it, and now the steam mode doesn't function properly without white sandy flecks coming out of the iron. After I unhooked the washer, I put one end of the hoses in a bucket to drain. They took the hoses out of the bucket, unhooked the other end, and water was everywhere in the laundry room. Before leaving, one gentleman forgot his DeWalt bag in the basement. I'm not sure if he tripped or wasn't paying attention, but our cat's food box that was next to his bag was overturned and cat food was everywhere when we returned later that evening. The storage units went smoothly enough, but by the time we got to our new house it was apparent that several of them wanted to be done. I know it took eight hours, and it was hot, but they got sloppier from there. My wife was upstairs directing traffic while I was in the basement taking boxes and putting them where we wanted them to go. While in the basement, I had guys bring me things that were clearly marked master bedroom or living room, and I had to instruct them upstairs. Others were carrying far too many things at once and dropped a couple boxes in front of me. It was very apparent that they were just trying to get done as quickly as possible, and being careful was not a priority. When we returned to the basement that night, boxes were stacked that clearly said 'do not stack.' Some things in the lower boxes were smashed. Our holiday wreaths had seemingly been chucked on the ground, and were underneath a few boxes, so some of them are now smashed and the bows need to be replaced. There were things that clearly belonged upstairs according to the tags, but they didn't check that, just left them in the basement. This is a shame because all of your workers had great work ethic, and they were all very nice and shook my hand before they left. But they simply were not careful. From there I contacted Tyler at BEK on May 19 to let him know about the situation. He didn’t get back to me with any kind of an answer until the 26th. His response was that after talking with his crew, there was a misunderstanding of the events, so he wanted us to come in and talk with the crew and himself. There is no such thing as a ‘misunderstanding’ for the way some of our things were handled. I had a pile of crushed wreaths on our basement floor to prove it. Aside from that, over the next few weeks I found other things that were damaged from them cramming things in the trucks that they had to pack and re-pack a few times. I don’t believe it was necessary to meet in person considering that we didn’t ask for any type of compensation. You guys came very highly recommended by my brother in law, so I mostly wanted to let you know so that you can address the issue. That said, I think it’s clear that this particular crew that helped us is better with smaller moves like my brother in law, and not with larger moves like ours. I do not appreciate that you told me after my first email that you’d get back to me the next day, and it essentially took a week. That’s poor customer service. It is also very off-putting that you want us to meet to essentially plead our case. Even if we were looking for compensation, no thank you. After telling Tyler the above, we then received a call from Justin. I was working and could not answer, so I called him back and left a message. He called back once without a message, and I never heard from them again. If I ever move again, BEK will not be receiving my business, and you should think twice about booking them if you have a big move.

Frequently Asked Questions About BEK Moving

What if I have more than I anticipated?

This situation occurs frequently during moves. Clear communication and adaptability are essential to minimizing stress when this happens. Our administrative team will contact you several times prior to your move date to confirm the quantity of furniture, obtain details about individual pieces if necessary, and verify box counts. Should you discover you have more or fewer items than initially estimated, please inform us in advance so we can adjust our plan accordingly and maintain the quality of your move. Our goal aligns with yours: executing a safe and efficient relocation.

Do the movers accept tips? If so, what is the average tip?

Yes, gratuity is greatly appreciated when our team has earned it. You may tip based on a percentage of the total bill, similar to other service professionals, or provide an average of $5-$10 per mover per hour worked, depending on the complexity of your move and your budget. We recognize that not everyone is in a position to provide additional compensation, and in those cases, your courtesy and appreciation are all we require.
