⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ LAKE EXPRESS FERRY REVIEW
What a way to start a surprise day! ⛴️💙
Paul surprised me this morning with a trip aboard the Lake Express Ferry, and I had absolutely no idea where the day was taking me. 😂 But from the moment we arrived, I was impressed!
One of the first things I overheard was a staff member reminding another employee that it’s all about the customer and making sure people are treated well. They had no idea I was listening, and THAT made it even better. It told me that customer service isn’t just something they say when someone is watching. Our business genuinely felt appreciated.
And the service matched it!
Savion and another staff member, who I believe was Andrew, were wonderful. Beautiful smiles, immediate help, friendly attitudes and the kind of energy that takes the guesswork out of whether you’re going to have a good experience.
The ferry itself is SUPER CLEAN, and yes, I check the bathrooms! 😂 Even those were extremely clean. IT IS COLD ONBOARD… dress in layers or bring a blanket. You have been warned!
We chose Premier seating, which gives you a quieter, more private area with incredibly comfortable, spacious reclining seats, tables and convenient private restrooms. There are windows everywhere, so you can enjoy the views, plus outdoor areas when you want some fresh Lake Michigan air.
And your car rides along too! You drive onto the ferry, vehicles are secured on the lower deck, and passengers head upstairs to relax for the approximately 2½-hour trip across Lake Michigan.
There’s food available, coffee, beverages and plenty of different seating options. You can sit at a table, stretch out in one of the loungers, look out the windows or head outside and enjoy the water.
For families, couples, a surprise day trip, or anyone headed toward Milwaukee, Chicago or the surrounding areas who doesn’t feel like making the long drive around Lake Michigan, THIS is an experience worth considering.
And apparently I still don’t know exactly where I’m going today because Paul is keeping the rest of the surprise to himself! 😂❤️

Very efficient and smooth way to get to the other side of Lke Michigan. First time riding and I was impressed how quickly people and cars are loaded and unloaded.
I thought I'd want to hang out on top more since it was a beautiful day. But 15 mph winds from the West, which aren't bad, paired with a 39 mph boat speed and hang on tight! The place to hang outside was the back of the premier cabin as you're blocked by wind.
I had a vehicle and premier cabin ticket and would ride this again. I was visiting my sister in Milwaukee and this was such a relaxing trip. I ended up napping for 30 minutes and arrived refreshed.
