I cannot recommend Pink Zebra based on my experience with my June 19, 2026 move. The process involved repeated communication failures, internal errors that were shifted onto me, delays caused by an incorrect work order, careless packing practices, damage to my home and belongings, and a resolution process that did not fully address the impact of these issues.
The problems began before moving day. During the in-home walkthrough, the operations manager repeatedly described my two-bedroom apartment as “really large” and emphasized that I needed to pack as much as possible to reduce costs. I explained multiple times that, with two young children in a small apartment, having everything packed in advance was not realistic. Despite this, the same expectation was repeated.
After the walkthrough, I received a verbal estimate that included packing and moving services. I was told the final invoice would likely be close to that estimate, although packing materials were not itemized because they were considered difficult to predict. I was also told the deposit would not be due until June 18. However, on June 8, I received a voicemail suggesting I needed to confirm immediately or risk losing my booking. When I returned the call, I was told there had been a misunderstanding and was pressured to pay the deposit early. Although I had previously explained my concerns about paying before officially signing for our new home, I paid to avoid further confusion.
On moving day, the crew arrived without packing materials because the work order incorrectly listed the job as moving-only. After contacting management, the company acknowledged the mistake and arrived approximately 45 minutes later with a limited number of boxes. They did not bring tape or markers, so I supplied my own materials to allow the work to begin.
The packing quality was also disappointing. Items were packed carelessly, including a toilet plunger placed with clean clothing, glass items without adequate protection, open board game boxes placed on their sides, untaped boxes, and unlabeled boxes despite instructions to label them.
At the storage unit, the crew dismantled a shelving unit without my permission. I had previously explained that removing the safety pins would require breaking them and was told the pins would be collected and returned. Afterward, the company stated that I had approved breaking them, which does not match my recollection of what occurred.
At the new home, we waited approximately 30 minutes for the truck to arrive. The move caused damage to freshly painted walls and door frames, yet I was billed from the scheduled start time through completion, including delays caused by the incorrect work order and truck arrival. Before leaving, the lead mover asked me to leave a five-star review; when I declined, he asked that I not leave a review at all.
Pink Zebra did make some efforts afterward, including waiving packing material charges, reimbursing $100 toward home damage, and offering replacements for damaged belongings. However, these efforts did not fully resolve the losses, and the replacements provided have not matched the specific items I identified.
Mistakes can happen during any move, but this experience involved repeated communication issues, poor organization, avoidable delays, damage, and a lack of accountability. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Pink Zebra.
If you think it’s unusual to want to snap photos with your movers, you haven’t met Pink Zebra. Literally the best. We’ve moved bazillion times, and I’ve never encountered a crew as efficient, hard-working, careful, thoughtful, STRONG, and downright pleasant.
We were moving in-laws in from across the country, so it’s an overwhelming and emotional time for them, and by the end, my MIL got tears in her eyes as she thanked them for being “the absolute best movers who took such good care of her family,” then hugged them! 😆
Will always use Pink Zebra and recommend them. Thank y’all for my perfectly packed and organized basement storage area as well!
