Before detailing our move I recognize my experience is unique but want to share feedback. We had this company scheduled to move us on a Monday and when no one showed up I knew something was wrong. I called and was told someone would call me back with an answer. No one called and I called again. This happened multiple times during the morning. At this point I’m missing work. They finally confirmed that I had a confirmed Monday scheduled move through my emails with Colleen Balla, but they did mistakenly schedule it for Wednesday.
Mistakes happen, I get that. What needed to be understood was the major inconvenience it created. The company did take a small discount off the total for the inconvenience. But I wanted to speak to Colleen about it. Because what really lacked that day was communication.
When I was told my move was scheduled for the wrong day, they first told me they were trying to contact a crew for that same Monday evening. This took all morning, with me calling to check in. Once they had that answer, they told me Monday between 5:30-6:30pm and they would call when on their way. I got the call and I assumed it was them letting me know they were on the way and instead it was them cancelling, stating it would be too late and with a “possible storm coming in, tomorrow would be better.” Again, communication. I do not know why they would wait until minutes before to cancel..again. Surely they could have assessed the situation earlier to let us know sooner.
Very frustrated with the outcome, I agreed. The next day the movers called to let us know they were on their way and asked us about our home, as if they had 0 idea what they were walking into. Again, lack of communication. Luckily they did a great job, but when I mentioned how we wanted to get this done the night before but because of the reasons above we were denied, they seemed confused and frustrated too. They told me they would have waited a storm out and they still move in the rain. Our total move time was under 2.5 hours. We could have gotten it done the night before.
Thank goodness they wait out storms because instead of a “possible storm” we had tornado warnings going off and a dangerous storm pass through for about an hour. Which had the whole move paused. Once the storm finally passed, they finished. The movers were great. Some better than others, one for sure had been smoking, but can’t complain because they moved our stuff fast. Management is not great. Colleen said she would call me on Tuesday and I wanted to give her this feedback, but since Monday’s email, she has not called.
Sometimes all people want is to be heard and feel their feedback is being listened to. It is frustrating when a huge inconvenience occurs and you feel ignored. My biggest problem was the lack of communication. My husband had a broken foot, so I had my father driving into town to help. This inconvenience created problems and a simple phone call would have made it better.

I had an upright piano moved one hour away and up one step. The movers were very communicative with both myself and the pickup location. They were clean and careful. I ran a pretty extensive RFP and they were the most reasonably priced for this job.

I can’t say enough great things about this moving company, especially Martin and Fernando! I hired them to move all of the pieces of my sauna from my house down into my basement and then install it. This was NOT an easy job, but they handled everything with incredible care, patience, and attention to detail.
What impressed me most was their problem-solving ability. I had actually hired another moving company before them, and that company started the job but eventually told me it simply wasn’t possible to get the sauna downstairs. Martin and Fernando came in, assessed the situation, and figured it out! They didn’t give up when things got difficult—they carefully worked through every challenge until they found a solution.
These guys are incredibly strong, hardworking, professional, and some of the best problem solvers I’ve ever worked with. They treated every piece of the sauna with extreme care and made sure everything was moved safely and installed properly.
Martin and Fernando were also an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. If you have a difficult or unusual moving job and need people who will actually take the time to figure it out, these are the guys you want.
Five stars without hesitation. I would hire them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them!

P & L Movers was great to work with during my move to Chicago. The company identifies as women-owned and LGBTQ+ friendly. Martin and Fernando were on time, friendly, professional, and worked very quickly! Nothing was damaged during the process and I was amazed at how they can maneuver such a large truck through the narrow streets and alleys of the city. Will consider using this company again in the future!

I can’t say nothing but really amazing things about this company and the people who work there. I called there today needing some last-minute help with a move and they were fully booked today and still found time after a very long day to come and help my family move into a new apartment. They were good communicators about their estimated time of arrival and the moment they showed up they got to work and did a fabulous job and I’m so thankful that I found them. I would recommend them highly
