  While moving from Moline to West Des Moines, I decided to try a UPack for the first time, which meant hiring separate moving crews in each city. However, due to some complications, I ended up having to hire for a same-day unloading rather than being able to schedule a few days out. I made my original appointment with a big, allegedly reputable mover in the area, annnd they no-showed. Entirely ghosted me without even calling. So there I am at 2 pm, needing to get a trailer unloaded by the end of the day and no movers. I called one company after the next, and everyone seemed to be booked. But in a stroke of luck, one of the booked companies I called suggested Iowa Moving 1 & I figured I’d give it a shot. From the beginning, the guy on the phone (Eric, I believe) was professional, polite, and extremely understanding. He even gave me a discounted rate (paying for one and a half hours instead of their usual 2 hour minimum) because of my situation. Not only did they slot me in super last minute, but Iowa Moving 1 was super communicative the whole way through. The movers were great too!! Despite the hour and a half estimate, they finished in about an hour, maybe even less then, & rather than immediately booking it out of there once the job was done, they even asked if I had anything else I wanted moved before they left :) Fair prices too — cost me a bit less than the other quotes I received. Next time, I fully intend to book Iowa Moving 1 for my whole move. Such an stress-free, wonderful experience from start to finish. Highly underrated!

  Very pleased with Iowa 1 Moving! They were easy to set up our move, priced reasonably, guys showed up at the designated time and finished the job early! What's not to love? Hire these guys for your next move!

  This company really came through and we needed somebody to help us move on short notice, including a heavy item up two flights of stairs. They were kind fast and reasonable. I think them so much for all the help that they were able to provide for us that day.

  We had a great experience scheduling this team to unload our POD. The owner was incredibly responsive and managed to fit us into the schedule when we called just the previous week. On the day of the move, the crew of 2 arrived right on time, worked extremely quickly (even in the heat), and took direction well when placing a few specific, key items. I’m fairly picky and was disappointed to notice they scuffed up one of our doors, which required some paint touch-up work afterward. Additionally, I felt the boxes and furniture weren't stacked very efficiently in the two designated rooms. Because items were spread out rather than condensed neatly, I had to spend time rearranging everything afterward to open up the space. Overall, we were happy with their service and would hire them again. We moved from out of state but believe they would also do a great job loading a POD as well.
