- KTkendall trice1 day ago5.0Had a great time on the Black hawk with my buddy's fishing on Saturday. The Capt put us on the fish lots of Big porgies And few sea bass. The crew was friendly an was always there if we needed them can't wait to go back. This trip was to see how good this boat was for our annual bus trips and I must say job well done Capt an Crew.

The crew put us right on good structure — we worked some nice ledges and drop-offs in around 80 - 110 feet, with the water sitting right at that prime low-60s temp the stripers like. The fishing lived up to it: I landed one keeper striper, and most folks on board hooked into bigger fish, all of which were released safely. That tells you the captain knew exactly where to set up. You can tell the captain and crew are true experts. They were helpful all day — quick with the net, good with gear, and happy to share what was working. The boat itself was clean, comfortable, and well-rigged, which makes a long day on the water a lot easier on everyone. The only reason I'm not giving a full 5 is that we were asked to fish just one side of the boat. On a busy trip that's a completely fair call for keeping lines from tangling, but it did mean I didn't get the chance to test out my own hand-tied teasers and buck-tails the way I'd planned. That's more of a personal note than a real knock on the operation. Bottom line: if you want a sharp, experienced crew that'll get you on fish and let you bring dinner home, the Black Hawk is a great choice. I'd happily go again.
