We have moved multiple times using multiple companies. This was by far our worst move. Going in to the move, Warner's had a good idea of the size of the move, but they weren't aware that I had already moved ~25-30% of our boxable items. With that said, I would expect our bill to come in under our estimate. That was mistake number one. The bill was a few hundred dollars more than the estimate despite a significant portion of items being moved ahead of time. They also tacked on "carrier packing" fees for items that they marked as them packing that, in my opinion and based on prior moves, should just be standard and included in any move. Items such as box springs, mattresses, TVs, wardrobes, and shelving units. All things that didn't even go into boxes, but if they were going to charge to move these items, that information should have been relayed ahead of time instead of tacked on after the fact.
Next we had multiple pieces broken in transit and upon delivery. Of our two true dressers with legs/feet, both were broken. One had the leg piece broken on the truck. Based on how the piece was broken, in my opinion, it was most likely packed inappropriately on the truck. The movers showed me this damage - as they really had no choice - and the solution offered to me was to just take the legs off and set it on the metal brackets. These metal brackets would not have dispersed the weight of the dresser appropriately and would have subsequently damaged the floor. This came across as an effort to avoid me filing a claim. The next dresser was damaged upon moving it into the house. I witnessed the movers preparing to lift the dresser and I told them ahead of time that they should remove the legs prior to lifting it, because they were about to place all the weight of the dresser on the sides of the two legs. They assured me that it would be fine. It was not fine. The thick metal bracket that held the legs in place was bent and now the wooden frame is being pulled away from the rest of the dresser.
We also had a grill have its wheels shattered. Now, this in itself wasn't a huge deal as they are plastic, but they still need replaced and compounded with everything else, it left us more than frustrated. The shelf on a children's bookshelf was broken in transit - or upon delivery, I can't really be certain. The most frustrating part about this was that the mover placed it where I had requested it be placed, but no one informed me it was broken. Instead, they placed the broken shelf (very clearly broken) on a shelf that was not broken and just moved along. Next was a plastic water table. This was another instance where the piece is obviously broken as the plastic leg was snapped in half where it should not have been and instead of informing me, the mover placed it outside and pretended nothing happened.
Then there was the issue of missing pieces, most notably a diaper pale. Based on what happened with the grill, the bookshelf, and the water table, I can only imagine this was broken in transit and just left on the truck. However, I was unaware this piece was missing in the throws of moving day and only realized it when I needed to change our baby, but I was missing one of our diaper pales.
Finally, possibly the most frustrating part, was the length of time it took to load and unload the truck. When loading the truck, Warner's hired outside help as we were in Indiana, which makes sense considering that they are based in Red Lion, PA. However, they really found two people to come load the truck along with the driver (who, understandably, slept all day due to having to drive that night) and one other employee, who tagged all of the items and filled out paperwork. This process took a full eight hours. When I had moved previously, I made sure to hire enough people so that this was a smooth and efficient process. Moving into our previous home, I was able to load AND unload the truck (excluding transit times) in eight hours total this move took eight hours each to load and unload.
I would not recommend Warner's to anyone looking to move.
