  We had an exceptional experience with Newport Tradewinds. Our family of 5 (myself, husband, and 3 young boys) booked 2 days of bottom fishing and crabbing on the Sea Pirate. It was hands down the best charter experience we have ever had. I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone! The captain and crew were phenomenal. They were excellent communicators, extremely kind and patient with our kids, and they worked HARD to get us on fish and make sure we were happy! We limited out on fish, and our boys could not have enjoyed the experience more. The deck hand went out of her way to teach the boys about the different species of fish we caught, make sure they were confident and safe in handling them (and the gear), and was friendly and approachable to everyone. Our captain worked hard to get us on fish. She was active in moving us around and keeping us on the action, excellent about communicating what her plans were, and was engaged with us the entire time we were at their business…both at the dock and on the boat. The boat was clean, the gear plentiful and in excellent condition, and I can’t think of a single thing that didn’t meet or surpass our expectations. We will absolutely book with them again next time we come to the coast, and I would recommend this trip to anyone looking to do bottom fishing in the area!

  My wife arranged a 5 hour bottom fishing trip for myself and our three grandsons. I cannot praise the Captain and crew enough. The youngest (8 years old) had a melt down as we left the calm waters and headed over the bar. The deckhand was there helping me talk him down, reassuring him that it was going to be alright. Once we started fishing and catching fish he was happy. They put us on fish right away and we limited on Rock Bass and one ling cod. We opted to pay for 4 crab pots and brought home 14 crab. I would recommend this charter service to anyone, professional and friendly from check in to fishing,

  This was my third time out with Tradwinds. We always have a good time and vibes are great. Haven't failed me yet. Consistently pulling fish and crab on the boat!

  Outstanding Customer Service Always!! I think the person that is writing the nasty review also wrote the same thing last year, obviously a disgruntled customer. Most Charters won't hold the boat for someone who is an hour late as you are making everyone else suffer for one individual or small group of people and so yes they would leave without them or go home. However my experience on a very regular basis has been very positive always!! Great captains, great fishing and crabbing, I hope you give them a try for yourself, they have been in business for a very long time.
