- MWMaddy WagnerOct 29, 20255.0Wish I could give more than 5 stars. My fiancé and I visited the Bar Harbor area during the last weekend of their season before winter. We were driving around looking for things to do that were still open and I googled 'Lobster boat ride' and found Sail Acadia. Their 3pm sailing was in 20 minutes and said 2 tickets remaining. I called their office and was so thankful they were able to get us in. The lady working in the office was so kind and funny, we immediately felt like we were a part of the crew. We boarded the Elizabeth T with 14 other guests, our captain and our guide, Katie. The team was professional and outgoing, they took us on a guided ride showing us all of the highlights of the area from the water. We also got to experience pulling up lobster traps - SO COOL! The intimate setting of the smaller boat gave us the opportunity to meet new people. A social butterfly's dream come true. It felt like more than a tourist boat ride, it was informative, welcoming and so much fun. The crew really takes care of their guests, they had binoculars and they even offered blankets for the chilly ride. Bring a heavy jacket and mittens if you go in October. Thank you, Sail Acadia for such great memories of our time in Maine!

I definitely recommend dressing warm & layers. Some duck/rain boots if you have would help you fit right in with the crew. My husband and I brought our (almost) one year old & we all had a blast learning about & capturing videos of crab, lobster & seals.

Captain John was wonderful and quite hilarious. He is very knowledgeable about both sailing and the islands. He was also patient with us as we were later than we wanted to be due to construction we failed to plan for. This is a fantastic adventure and we highly recommend it.
