We Do Not Recommend This Moving Company (Prince Asong Movers)
I recently hired this company to move me into a new home, and the experience was disastrous. They caused significant damage to my floors from dragging and sliding the furniture. My yard, and several neighbors’ yards were affected by their trucks. What a way to meet your new neighbors. A couple of movers smelled unclean, and a few appeared to be milking the clock, delivering items one at a time instead of efficiently.
What went wrong:
Damaged belongings: A very expensive piece of artwork (autographed, worth around $2,800 when purchased in 2020) was damaged and packed without protection. It was literally thrown in a laundry bag. Prince said they should have asked me to take it instead of placing it in their truck, but they didn't tell me that. A nearly $3,000 mirror was broken, as well as a damaged glass bar (~$1,200) and a candle holder (about $100). An expensive bookbag containing my laptop went missing.
Packing and handling: Boxes were not labeled, so I have no idea where many items are. They did not provide the promised packing, moving, and unpacking service, and we exceeded the quoted time (13.5 hours with 5 movers, up from 10 hours). So I paid an extra $1050 for the extra 3.5 hours.
Professionalism and trust: The owner, Prince, offered only $50 for the damaged artwork and later blamed me for delays, despite the truck being packed and ready before I grew impatient. He claimed to be Christian and offered “a deal” initially because he was just starting out. I now sense that was a strategy to gain my trust and business, and then he could get more money out of me later.
Impact on others: My neighbors were affected, and contractor costs have added up due to the damages and delays.
What I would expect (and did not receive):
Proper protection and handling of valuable items.
Accurate labeling and complete service (packing, moving, and unpacking).
Timely, professional service without overstaying the clock.
Fair compensation for all damaged, missing, or stolen items.
Clear, responsive communication about insurance and claims.
Current status:
I’m pursuing the moving company’s insurance and, if needed, local consumer protection channels and small-claims options. I recommend others consider alternative movers with strong reputations and transparent, insured coverage.
I am a doctor, I am a pastor, and I'm a great person. I needed this to work out, as moving already is tough, so I wanted an easy trouble-free experience. If you can afford better, please do it. Do not give them the opportunity to burn you like they did me. And read the other negative reviews. Look at how Prince responded. He's not integral or professional. I just wish I had done my due diligence by reading the negative reviews first as well. I now have to retain legal counsel to assist me in getting back the money I lost from these scammers. Please run far far away. If it seems too good to be true.... you know the rest.
The owner likes to blame the customer when he and his team mess up. The things I packed weren't broken. The things they packed were. I packed 70 or so percent of my items, they packed the rest. I spoke to the owner to admin what we had originally agreed to do if I moved forward with them, and he acknowledged the change. And while still in my old home, the lead supervisor calmed the owner to confirm that I was being unpacked the same day and he confirmed that I had changed that detail. The owner said he would probife the insurance information so I could file a claim, but he never did, and I have now followed up twice. These people are just disgusting and scam artists. The owner even acknowledged that they should have told me to take my expensive items in my car and not let them pack them up but that was never advised.
End story- DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR STUFF.

I recently used Prince Azong Moving for my move in the Washington, DC / DMV area, and I can honestly say it was one of the smoothest experiences I’ve ever had.
From the first call to the final box being placed, everything was handled professionally. The team arrived on time, came fully prepared, and worked efficiently without cutting corners. They wrapped and protected all of my furniture carefully, treated my home with respect, and made what is usually a stressful day feel easy.
What really stood out was:
Clear communication
Transparent pricing (no surprises)
Speed without sacrificing care
Professional and polite crew
Organized loading and unloading
Genuine respect for my belongings
Not a single item was damaged. Not a single wall was scratched. That alone says everything.
If you’re moving in DC, Maryland, or Virginia — Prince Azong Moving is 100% worth it. I would use them again without hesitation.

The movers were awesome but I wouldn’t use this company again because the owner/manager tries to overcharge after the service is finished. I was charged for 4 hours when it only took 3. The guy Prince told me I “wasn’t a good person” because I wasn’t willing to pay the number he was quoting me, which was higher than the hourly rate I was quoted before the service started. I hope the guys who moved me find an honest company to work for because they were great.
Same day update:
I’m not sure if this guy is trying to intimidate me or harass me but after posting my review he texts me saying that I’m “dishonest” because he disagrees with my experience with his company. I hired this company through HireAHelper, which I’ve had great experiences with in the past. The order was 2 guys for 2 hours. That’s the base that HireAHelper begins with. This guy sends 3 movers then at the end of the service wants to charge me extra for the extra person. He said if I saw 3 guys I should’ve reached out to him so that he could have the extra guy sit in the car. To be clear, instead of paying a tip to the guys I paid for an extra hour at Prince’s request. Then I receive these texts (attached) after leaving my review. I sincerely hope that the guys working for this man find an honest company. As I said before, they were actually great.
In response to Prince's comment:
When you as a business owner use a 3rd party to get bookings, you use their format. HireAHelper provides 2 movers for 2 hours. There was no option where I selected 3 movers. If you as a business owner send 3 movers, that doesn't mean that you get to ask me to pay a $320 "tip" to pay for 3 movers at 4 hours when the job only took 3 hours. This company Prince Asong Moving is shady and I would not use them. Buyer beware.
But as stated before, the movers themselves were great guys, and I highly recommend using HireAHelper, just do your research on the company and owners. Do not be fooled by a number of 4/5 star reviews, really dig in and see what people are complaining about. I am not the only person that has had an issue with the way this company charges people once the work is done.
