I generally don’t leave reviews, but I feel it necessary today. The service my family and I received today was phenomenal! Pricing was below what I budgeted which was great! The three-man team was speedy and efficient, even figuring out the difficult maneuver of getting our GIANT couch up a flight of stairs and around a tight corner. If we ever move again, I would definitely use them again. Phenomenal service!

Unfortunately, my second move with this company was extremely negative which was the opposite of my first moving experience. I was quoted about a hundred dollars more for essentially the same 2br move because I informed Benjamin that we added a sectional couch. I also mentioned that we had two extra night stand so if the upcharge was more then I accepted that. The initial estimate was around $500 but bumped up to $760 due to adding $250 for tv installation. The day the movers arrived I was met with some rude driver named Denys or Dymetri who off the bat complained about my order having "no items" and stated the move would be more than 3.5hrs. He insisted that any overage was due to the failures of his "sales team" and that I should contact them with any issues. He also was adament that he was not told to install any tv's and therefore did not bring his tools. He was also stressing that my "insurance" was minimal and if damage occurred they would not be at fault. I immediatly took pictures of all of my TVs. Ironically, I received a call from Terry a few moments later asking if I wanted to purchase insurance for an extra $150 which I did. Who would not after having this interation I had with this knucklehead.
All of this was my initial interaction with someone half my age who was supposed to have done the move the day prior. Despite this I left him and his partner alone and waited in my other location. It took them 3.5hrs just to do one way for a similar 2br move that movers did last time in 3hrs (commute time included). I complained about the hours and him and his partner refused to move furniture for almost an hour until I was able to get this woman Terry, the individual who initially seemed reasonable, to essentially threaten them with action. The move occurred without incident but at the end of the day they charged me over $1,500 dollars which did not even include the TV installation. So my original quote based on a prior move plus an added hour and TV installation went from $760 to $1,500 MINUS the $250 for tv installation (so it would have been $1,750). This is an overquote, mind you based on a prior 2bd move, of 1k!!!! That is not only grossly negligent and deceptive but the treatment I received moving with my daughter present was absolutely unacceptable on a professional level.
Despite this and my offering a concession that as long as I had ensurances to install my two tv's for free then I would not contest the gross overbilling. I received assurance from Terry and then later Dymtrov that I would get a free tv installation (but would provide a tip to the installer). However, after a week of being told this guy Viktor would call me the service never materialized. I ended up paying the same fee to a professional from Belarus that could teach a thing or two to these folks at Move and Care (a little).
I have contested the overcharge with my credit card company and have prior quotes, "non-binding" or not, deceptive practices are not allowed in business. I also filed a consumer complaint with the AG office in MA. These people do not operate like a business who must realize they don't exist without customers and there are plenty of movers out there that will gladly take up their business and realize customer service and care are more important than squeezing extra money out of people. You are only as good as your front line people who if they are talking down about their sales team and complaining to customers about their pay that is a poor reflection of the company. Ironically, this company stood by the same individuals who bad mouthed them the entire time to a client. Go figure. Good luck in the future because if you continue to not hold your employees accountable then you will end up seeing how important a good customer based and referral system is to these types of companies.
