Basically, Ship Smart offers moving services for customers who need to ship more stuff than is possible via mail, but less stuff than would justify working with moving companies which tend to have very high minimum quotes. In my case, I needed to move one bedroom's worth of furniture and personal items. Ship Smart was PERFECTLY suited to this task. They made a relatively complicated process -- picking up one bedroom's worth of items, storing them for two months, and shipping them across the country -- very simple. The Ship Smart officials were amazing about explaining my options over the phone and rapidly getting me a quote. Unlike most moving services, this felt 100% tailored to my exact needs; therefore, I didn't end up feeling like I overpaid. And for what it's worth, the gentlemen who picked up/delivered my stuff were super cool and professional!
- NNNNov 1, 20181.0Damaged all of my furniture, took almost 6 weeks to receive my shipment and I never got shipment updates. Whenever I called to ask about the status of my shipment, I was pressured to buy insurance by the agents, I kept declining, as I had never had to buy insurance for movers before- no issues. Along with waiting almost 6 weeks for my furniture, they refused to bring my shipment upstairs unless I paid an additional $150, since I have an upstairs condo. It was one flight, and directly to my door. I even paid $100 for have my furniture put back together, which wasn’t even necessary since my bed snaps together. Every single item I received was damaged. Massive obstruction to my headboard, my boxes smashed, scratches on my cherrywood table, bed frame, end tables and coffee table. My bank wasn’t able to settle this; I tried to talk to ShipSmart about this, only for them to basically say it’s too bad- should’ve gotten insurance. An absolute UDAAP violation. I will be contacting the better business bureau, or going to court.
