- RSRebecca SmithNov 14, 20255.0Macy Movers (MM) did a fantastic packing and loading job at origin (California) and an impeccable unloading and some unpacking at destination (Georgia). It included loading boxes from a condo and two storage units. I taped up signs throughout my new home to match labels on boxes. They followed directions to the tee. I had 450 items boxed/wrapped including a couple very heavy wood furniture pieces, and only experienced one small pressure dent which occurred on top of my TV stand unit; everything else was damage-free! Macy Movers reassembled everything that had been disassembled including three pricey road bikes, bed, lamps, under-cabinet shelf-stands, shoe stand, and laundry room cart. I opted to have all kitchen boxes unpacked of which everything was laid out with care on the large kitchen island. They were gentle with my full filing cabinets, computer equipment and other electronics. They unwrapped and placed two 55” inch TV screens on top of a dresser in bedroom and TV stand in living room. They hooked up my electronic leather couch asking me to test it. I was concerned when I saw tires and pedals removed from my high-end road bikes and an e-bike. But they did perfect reassembly of them after which I tested their operation with no issues. I have made many moves having served 12 years in the Army. I did a container move once with a well-known company and had a VERY negative experience because it resulted in damage to expensive wood furniture that still needs repair to this day as the repair requires an authorized person to refinish the wood. I considered trying a container move again, being smarter about the process. But the cost to not only rent the containers but to separately coordinate labor for origin and destination was not only a pain but far exceeded the price than what Macy Movers charged for a full service move by 30% !!! Nathan, the driver, is not only a premier packer/unpacker but was with the load as the driver the entire way, checking in with me regularly to coordinate delivery. Macy Movers attaches bar code stickers to every item (easily removable) for accurate inventory. They called out the numbers on the stickers at delivery and I marked them off on the clip board. It took 5 hours for a perfect finish !!! Stevie stayed in touch with me during the entire process and was always prompt in addressing my questions from beginning to end (thank you Stevie!) I heartily recommend Macy Movers for a worry free long distance move over competing moving container services as price and service cannot be beat! Thank you Nate and the entire crew!
