Birmingham Air Freight

Birmingham Air Freight, Inc. was started in September 1976. We (Dick and Anita Craig) were previously employed by Knoxville Air Cargo in Knoxville, Tenessee as the managers. When we got the opportunity to come to Birmingham, Alabama and start a company of our own we were both excited and scared. Paul Diddy who was the ACI representative for the Southeast told us of the opening and here we are thirty-three years later. When we began here Dick was thirty and I was twenty-five. We have watched a lot of cartage companies come and go in the years we have been here, but we continue on trying to give good service at a resonable price. In January 1986 we bought a small cartage company in Huntsville, Alabama and named it Huntsville Air Freight, so we serve the northern two-thirds of the state of Alabama. Dick developed cancer in 1999 and died March 12, 2001. I am continuing on in his memory. We never had any children--too busy maybe--so this is my life.
