We had an LLC with him- we kept asking about our yearly renewal and he never actually paid the city/ state. I’ve called and called and he says he’s done it but he has not for years.. now I have to start over.

I received a letter from Mr Gordon. The letter was very poorly written and had many grammatical errors. I honestly thought it was a scam. After contacting my agent it turns out Mr. Gordon was the lawyer for the buyers who bought my condo. Mr. Gordon failed to go over the contract and deduct the carpet credit that was promised to the buyers at closing. Never have I seen an attorney have a $1500 oversight let alone take them two weeks to realize their error. We closed on the selling of our condo on the ninth and he didn’t reach out until the 23rd threatening collections due to his error. I am paying the carpet credit in good faith for the buyers who have no control over they are terrible attorney. Please be advised that this attorney is not professional nor reliable at his profession.

My husband and I used Mr. Gordon to sell a property that was gifted to us after a death in the family. We spent 6 months trying to get this settled before finally firing him. We would call all the time for updates and could never get an answer. My husband would call just before going in to his office, no answer, yet he is sitting at his desk playing solitaire. This happened multiple times. I mean, you can't make this stuff up. I would call from different numbers just to get an answer. I would ask where we are in the process and he would make stuff up that didn't make sense and then say he would call and never would. He gave us date after date to when the process would come to a close, and time after time we would spend 2 or 3 days after that date trying to get ahold of him just to hear that it wasn't done. Meanwhile, we have a buyer that we're stringing along because Mr. Gordon can't get his stuff together and were paying $1200 each month on the mortgage while we wait for Mr. Gordon to finally finish this. Finally the day I fired him, 2 days after the day he said we would sign papers, I asked him what was the hold up and questioned what he said because he wasn't making sense, was giving me mumbo-jumbo lawyer talk so I couldn't understand what was going on, he says he isn't in the mood to argue about it and hangs up on me. This is 6 months of waiting and calling and trying to keep our buyer on the hook and paying the monthly mortgage and living paycheck to paycheck because of it, all for nothing The real kicker is that because we didn't sign a contract with Mr. Gordon, there isn't anything we can do about his laziness and failure to act like a real lawyer that is trying to get things done for his client. What a snake. In the beginning I worried we would be bothering him by calling and showing up at his office, but we could never reach him so we had no other choice if we wanted to know what was going on with the process. I have never had a more devastating and terrible experience with someone I was paying for services. Never. Now we are back to square one in the process, our buyer will most likely drop out because we are starting over, we have to continue to pay this mortgage for every month that our next lawyer takes to make this happen , not to mention to get another buyer if ours drops out, and that is assuming Mr. Gordon had done literally anything at all in the process over the last 6 months because there has never been any proof, only what he says when you call for 3 days and finally show up at his office for an answer. Not only that, but part of the process we did ourselves after he told us what was supposedly holding him up, and we decided to do it ourselves which took less than a day. I am furious. I hope nobody else every has to go through this. Richard Gordon is a joke. Don't hire him.
