  ALENE—A “LADY ‘ATTICUS.’” 5.0 stars Posted by April 6, 2024 It is impossible to BUY an authentic advocate: that caliber of assistance with integrity ensues only from a heart of justice, honor, valor, care for others and a love of their innate human dignity. Many lawyers are also (mainly) mercenary. Others are barely competent for the task at hand. There are attorneys aplenty who are moreover marred by the distortions of character which the gritty work of law-fare can wreak on weak souls. Not so, with Alene Sprano. My teenaged son is reading a childhood favorite, right now, in school; To Kill A Mockingbird. One memorable character seared my soul with a sense of justice mingled with mercy at that tender age as well. The honest lawyer and honorable hero in it, “Atticus Finch,” became a legendary icon, etching ever in my mind the look and feel of a righteous attorney, a kind and genuine advocate, navigating complex societal factors, while defending the rights and dignity of humanity, with rare and courageous competency. These days, it seems scarcely possible to find an attorney of that nature—in Virginia, particularly. Alene’s noble, stalwart and successful defense of a new mother I heard was facing a frightful felony has brought a great and gratifying respite to recurrent disappointment in misdirected public and private agents and agencies, who could be helping, but end up hurting the cause of the common good. Alene ensured the felony would be reduced to a misdemeanor within a year’s review, with challenging, but feasible and practicable conditions met. She facilitated a marvel! Alene and her associate have thus forever impacted the life of that mother and infant for good and justice was finally served for them. Alene therefore deserves the honorary monicker in tribute—and I so dub her—‘Lady “Atticus,”’ Hers is a dirty and difficult business, but also a necessary one. Only the strong, the sterling, the good, the incorruptible are WORTHY to wage it! She is all that, no doubt. Prospective clients need search no further for an able, assiduous advocate and a legal champion.
