  I have retained Ms. Ann N. Luu, Esquire, as my counsel since January 2024. She has expertly and professionally represented me in various and what seemed like never-ending legal issues with my ex-husband. From Motions to Modify Custody and Child Support, to Trespassing. When I decided to represent myself (pro se) in response to my ex's motion to modify child support, she didn't tell me I couldn't do it. She was available anytime I needed to ask her guidance and advice. Her support continued when I decided to file my own Motion to Show Cause, where after years of meticulous financial record keeping, the court ruled that he was in contempt and ordered him to pay 7 years of unreimbursed expenses! When Virginia updated the child support calculator in July 2025, Ms. Luu advised me on how to file a Motion to Modify Child Support despite receiving an order in May 2025. Ms. Luu knows the family court system in Fairfax County. When opposing counseling tried "bullying" me, Ms. Luu informed me of the correct process, what forms I needed to file, my rights in representing myself, and wrote the draft orders. I've had nothing but "Big Wins" with Ms. Luu and I highly recommend her!

  I've dealt with many attorneys and law firms during my lifetime for divorce, tenant eviction, will and trust. I've never had the pleasure of working with an attorney who was so competent, diligent, and hard working. I felt that Ann and the folks at KB&D had my back the whole time. Working with Ann is like having a shield and a sword. I highly recommend her, and would not hesitate to hire Ann and KB&D again. Top notch!

  John Byrnes was my divorce attorney and I can't say enough about his knowledge, strategy and ethics. Throughout the whole process John was informative, protective and made it happen. I'd recommend and have recommended many times to friends and family going through a divorce. One testament to John's skill and fairness as family law attorney; is that my ex-wife who was on the other side of my first divorce asked me if she could hire John for her second divorce, but unfortunately John doesnt practice in D.C. - I think that says it all.
