My atterney passed away and I needed a new attorney to take a case that is current in appeal with Appeals Cousil. He did not represent my case well, as he had cognitive problems due to his illness prior to hearing and during the hearing.
I had to explain the issue over and over again to an intake person that seemed to be subcontracted from another country. She was professional and sympathetic throughout the conversation, but lacked understanding on how appeal to Appeal Counsil work with SSDI - that even if you claim is denied you can still appeal twice.
Then she got in touch with a local firm to review and they informed me to follow up with SSI on questions. After 3 unsuccessful texting attemps, I still did not get text message with questions. I asked for questions to be emailed, but was told that they can not email.
I asked what are the questions, and they were the exact same questions that I already answered. I was then informed that they can not take my case because it was already denied and in appeal.
After 45 minutes of complete intake, they told me something that took another attorney office paralegal to do within 5 minutes by phone "We do not take cases lost by other attorneys or wait until you get a reply from SSDI". Seems like a waste of company's time and my time.
If you are in my scenario, consider that this is the answer you will get and save yourself 45min.
What puzzles me that many "respected" "for over 20+ years of experience" attorneys refuse to take cases initially lost by other attorneys on a first attempt due to technicality, but yet, when you read reviewes that their clients leave for them, it states all over that they too had to go through denials and appeals.
I do not enjoy leaving poor reveiws online, but I have no access to the upper managment of this firm to bring it to their attention.
They girl was very nice, but they should train their emoployees better and assure goog communication via text messaging and emails.
