  In 2025 I fell upon an extremely difficult situation because of our "so called" justice system. It resulted in an UNWARRANTED DWI charge. I had a perfect driving record, no criminal history, and had driven for the same company commercially for 28 years. In fact I had LITTERALLY just passed my DOT physical. This incident happened in the parking lot of The Texas Health Center. All of this cost me a 28 year career at the age of 61, just in time for retirement. I suffered a loss of income, medical insurance, seniority, and seven weeks of vacation at 100,000/ year. I was arrested and spent a night in jail, lost my job, and as of today I have no income. It's been seven months since the incident, and I am just getting my lab results from the STATE OF TEXAS. The lab work only showed the presence of a legal prescription, nothing illegal and no alcohol. I paid this attorney 6250.00 to take my case, to defend me, WORK, for me because I didn't think a public defender would be enough. I was told if the case went to court, it would be another 6250.00. THAT'S IT. In the seven months since the incident, this attorney WAS able to get a "letter of declination" from the prosecutor, which I appreciate, and this is BEFORE my lab work came back. It didn't save my job because the DWI charge was still on my record. This attorney however NEVER STAYED IN TOUCH, not even once a month unless I contacted her, either email or text. I asked her early on to keep me posted. She did not, UNTIL she was able to get the letter of declination from the prosecutor. Just recently, I contacted her to see if my lab work had ever been returned from the state. (text) She said she had no knowlege but would contact the prosecutor, in other words, if I hadn't checked with her I would never know if it returned and the results. I asked her for a copy and about expunging my record of the charge in the past, and recently when the lab results came back. There wasn't any discussion of an additional 950.00+ a 400.00 filing fee. I think this attorney was suspicious of me and how my labs would come back, you know, GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT?! Anyway, when I recently inquired about the lab results and they came back just as I told her they would, she was all too ready to charge me more money KNOWING, my current circumstances and that I had lost a 28 year career over something that was nothing more than a medical emergency caused by a prescription. SO, rather than offer to get my record expunged of the DWI charge, I received the message below, demanding 950.00 and 400.00 for filing, all up front. I couldn't believe it, after paying 6250.00 up front for her services, I was going to get hit again, when I have NO INCOME. No compassion from this defense attorney, just "give me more money". STAY AWAY FROM THIS ATTORNEY. FOR 6250.00, I DID RECEIVE A LETTER OF DECLINATION BUT NO EXPUNGING MY RECORD OF THE CHARGE, NOT UNLESS MORE MONEY WAS PAID OUT! RIDICULOUS!! A defense attorney who kicks her client when he's at rock bottom!! I should have gone with the public defender!!

  I hired the Dornburg’s to represent my DWI case on second offense. I must say. I went in for consultation I felt Heard respected and in my heart I knew I was hiring them from day one. I explained what occurred and how I felt about it. Terri Dornburg Gave me a list of things to do in which I did in a timely manner. I didn’t feel the need to communicate much because I knew that she was gonna take care of everything that legally needed to be done. I gave her my complete confidence and wholeheartedly felt I was in the right place. I let Terri and her husband Brent take care of everything as to the criminal and civil charges that were pending against me. I without a doubt will always share my experience. I agree that what I did was not right and I was willing to accept it. I know that drinking and driving can cause more harm than good, even if it’s just one drink or two. My advice is take it from someone who now understands the depths of this charge. Plan ahead and be responsible. If you find yourself in any legal situation do not hesitate to contact the Dornburg’s! They will tell you exactly what you don’t want to hear to how and what will you be doing to better the situation. I highly recommend them 100 times over! I share to give light on a DWI case that I was highly pleased with. Not to say it was at all right. But my goal is and will forever be to share an experience that may help another. Thank you Terri and Brent, you are and will forever be a huge part of my testimony! 🙏🏽💕
