  I do not recommend the Law Office of Michael Baumer. Like many reviewers below, my biggest issue was communication, or the total lack of it, from Michael and Renee. Here's my experience: I had an initial consultation call, sent over all my paperwork, and did a second call to clear up remaining questions. Michael told me more than once that my case was "very straightforward", fewer than five creditors. Then it stalled. After two months, the only work product I received was a draft paragraph proposing a settlement with my main creditor, riddled with typos and unfilled placeholders. I replied within 60 minutes. After that, both Michael and Renee went completely silent. They stopped answering my emails and stopped answering emails from the creditors themselves. After multiple attempts to reach them with zero response, I gave up, hired a different attorney, and requested a refund of my $6,000 deposit. Given how they handled everything else, I'm not optimistic I'll see it. Maybe this was a solid firm at one point. Based on my experience, it feels like Michael is winding down toward retirement and new clients aren't a priority. And if you read the other reviews here, you'll notice a pattern: poor experiences, followed by apologies, which leads me to believe they are requesting people to revise negative reviews, which makes me question how much their Google rating actually reflects. Save yourself the money and the months. Look elsewhere.

  Michael Baumer Law Michael and his excellent staff (Valorie, Melanie, Renee, and others) have been the absolute best legal firm that I could have hired to handle my bankruptcy during this very trying time.   My entire experience with the Law Office of Michael Baumer was excellent from start to finish! I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a bankruptcy attorney. They are very gracious, efficient and helpful.

  We were going through a difficult time, and Mr. Baumer and his team were a huge help to us! He was so understanding when we had to bring our toddler to the appointments because we didn't have anyone to watch her. He is knowledgeable and knows what he's doing; I don't think the process could have gone any smoother! We highly recommend his services!
