  I have previously worked with Victoria years ago, and at that time I found her to be very upfront about costs, fair, and communicative throughout the process. Recently, I returned to your firm and worked with Stephen Baer. From the beginning, I clearly communicated that I had a strict budget and could not exceed $2,500. I was told that this would be acceptable and that a $2,500 retainer fee would cover the services. I agreed to this and signed the required paperwork, which included language about potential additional charges. However, I was also reassured verbally that the case would be handled within the $2,500 retainer. I understand that additional charges can sometimes occur, but in this situation I was never informed that my retainer was being exceeded. At no point during the process was I notified that I was approaching or over my limit, nor was I provided with any billing updates or warnings. Communication was extremely limited, consisting of only one consultation and a couple of brief phone calls, and the case was resolved very quickly. At the conclusion of the case, I was told I owed additional money, which I assumed would be a small amount. Instead, I was billed approximately $3,500 on top of the $2,500 retainer already paid, with no prior notice that these charges were accumulating. I feel I was not properly informed or communicated with regarding the costs, and I believe I should have been notified immediately once the retainer was exceeded so I could make informed decisions. This lack of communication has left me feeling misled and extremely frustrated, especially given that I was upfront about my financial limitations, including being unemployed and supporting three children. When I attempted to discuss my concerns, the response I received was dismissive, and the conversation ended abruptly. This experience has been very disappointing, and I would not feel comfortable using this firm again. I strongly encourage more transparent communication regarding billing and retainer usage moving forward, so clients are not surprised by significant unexpected charges.

  Worth waiting for the appointment! Rebecca Hobbs Esq did an outstanding job obtaining medicaid approval for my brothers nursing home after correcting or working with Medicaid to approve a Special Needs Trust. Excellent! Thank you Rebecca!!!

  As a repeat client, was very surprised by pricing. Quoted excessive fee for a standard amendment to a trust. They had written our trust, we paid a $500 consult fee to get amendment going and then came back with excessive quote. When we engaged them to request flexibility, response was a flat no. Another attorney was able to provide standard language for 1/3rd the price. Very disappointed and won’t be back.
