Divorce & Dissolution
Marriage can be terminated two different ways, by Dissolution or by Divorce.
Dissolution is faster, less expensive, and often has less stress on both the children and on the parents, when compared to a traditional divorce. I often recommend that my clients first consider marriage counselling, and then consider dissolution, prior to considering the Divorce route. However, there is a catch: the parties must reach agreement on all terms prior to filing a dissolution. If the parties cannot cooperate to that extent, then Divorce is the only remaining option.
Divorce: Divorce is the traditional route for terminating a marriage. Divorce is lengthier and more costly than a divorce, and sometimes more emotionally difficult for the parents as well as for the children.
