  Customer service is not this office's strong suit. I scheduled an 11am appointment and explained my needs when I called. I arrived a few minutes early and was told the attorney was wrapping up with another client — fine. That client left at 11:03. For the next 22 minutes, the attorney and admin staff discussed other cases and appointment reminders while I waited. When I asked to confirm my appointment time, the admin seemed annoyed. The attorney eventually came out, grabbed something from the printer, glanced up and said "If you're ready now, I can talk" — then walked off without indicating where I should follow. The admin had to point me to the right office. I explained that I needed help setting up my business correctly and wanted to pay for professional guidance to make sure the paperwork was done right. The attorney handed me a stack of forms and said "these are what you need." When I clarified that I was hoping to hire someone to help me complete them accurately, he said "Yeah, I can do that, but I charge $750" — as if the idea of paying for legal services was something I needed to have explained to me. He came across as condescending and made me feel foolish for asking for help with something outside my expertise. I understand my needs may be small compared to his usual caseload. That's fine — but if this type of work isn't something he wants to take on, that could have been communicated when I called to set the appointment, saving us both the time. He may be a skilled attorney. But if client experience matters to you, look elsewhere.

  In 2015 I suffered a violent and unprovoked attack by a dog that my daughter purchased at a Cincinnati area animal shelter. She had owned the dog for 10 days. After the attack occurred we learned that the dog had a history of biting and aggressive behavior. This information was kept from my daughter (who has two small children). My injuries were severe and permanent. I decided to consult a lawyer. I spoke with several law firms in the Cincinnati area. LARGE and well known law firms. All were willing to take my case but none of them were willing to hold the animal shelter accountable, they only wanted to go after my daughter and her insurance company! I was told each time that it was not possible to file an injury claim against an animal shelter because these cases are "always" dismissed by the courts. I was referred to Richard Hyde by a friend. He met with me immediately and allowed me to explain the incident in detail, which is very emotional for me and usually involves crying half way through the story. He was very kind and patient. Mr. Hyde accepted my case, INCLUDING my personal injury claim against the shelter. I attended each court appearance he had involving my case. Both Mr. Holcomb and Mr. Hyde were professional, well spoken and well informed. It is because of their professionalism that my case was NOT dismissed. Their cutting edge approach to this case lead to a settlement that exceeded my expectations. Thank you Holcomb & Hyde for being the ONLY law firm in Southwestern Ohio to have the self confidence and willingness to take on and WIN a case that numerous other law firms thought would never make it past the first Judge. You will forever have my gratitude.
