I called seeking assistance for a client and they were very rude during the phone call. Questions were not answered and she hung up the phone while I was still talking. It seems like they had a chaotic day from the start of the call. The receptionists spoke so fast it was unclear what she was saying to me I just went ahead and stated why I was calling and she transferred me. Very unprofessional. When people reach out to attorneys they are in
need of legal support and probably not in the best place physically, mentally, and emotionally and to be discarded like that is not fair. I recommend finding attorneys that really care.
Millie and her staff are amazing!!
Super helpful & friendly would definitely recommend.
After being sued over an old hospital bill that I didn't even know existed, I was contacted by Shek Law Firm. I immediately wanted to resolve the matter and believed the firm was handling the collection of payment. I promptly emailed my banking information, expecting the payment would be processed, and moved on, assuming everything was being taken care of.
To my surprise, I later received a notice that my wages were going to be garnished. At no point was I given clear instructions about what additional steps I needed to take or that simply providing my banking information wasn't enough.
When I called the office for clarification, I spoke with Millicent Shek. Instead of receiving guidance or professionalism, I was met with an incredibly rude and condescending attitude. Rather than helping me understand the process, I was essentially told that I was irresponsible and needed to "do better" with my life.
I've never been through anything like this before. I wasn't looking for special treatment. I simply needed someone to explain the process. Good attorneys and law firms understand that their clients often don't know how the legal system works. If everyone already knew the process, they wouldn't need legal professionals in the first place.
My experience with Shek Law Firm was defined by poor communication, a lack of professionalism, and an unwillingness to help someone genuinely trying to resolve a situation. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm to anyone seeking legal representation. There are plenty of attorneys who will treat people with respect and communicate clearly throughout the process.
As a landlord I have hired Millie Skek for two separate cases. She did an AMAZING job on both. She is prompt, professional, conscientious, and a down to earth person. I recommend her, and will return to her if I have any need in the future. Her front desk staff is also top notch.
