  Wildly Unprofessional... My daughters mother hired Heather. Lets just say her reputation precedes her. She kept mom on retainer FOR MONTHS, encouraging her to be as difficult as possible with me. The day came for pretrial conference: she yelled and acted like a complete child; telling me "you'll never get anything you're asking for!!" etc... Four days later, we went to court and she immediately folded and demanded that we go to mediation instead. She didn't even attempt to fight for her client who had spent thousands to be represented. I represented myself and won every last thing I was looking for. I would highly recommend not hiring her; the best lawyers don't need to rely on performative measures to intimidate the opposition into a win, they navigate the court with their competency in family law.

  If I could apply negative stars to this review, I would, and -10 would not be too many. I mean it. I found her to be a deplorable human being who preyed upon my vulnerabilities at a most difficult time in my life. When we first met (and BEFORE I paid her 10k retainer) she said everything I was hoping to hear. As soon as the check was written and she saw that I’m not a deep pocket, her demeanor changed: she was dismissive, impatient, rude and overtly unkind. She is a predatory lawyer and I advise you to run FAR FAR away.

  My experience with this attorney was extremely disappointing and stressful during an already very difficult divorce. Communication was poor and often delayed, especially around time-sensitive court issues, which left me feeling unprepared and unsupported going into hearings. At times, her tone in communication felt demeaning and unnecessarily harsh, including a notably hostile response when I sent a email the weekend before a Monday hearing. I was reprimanded for emailing during her family time and said it’s rude to not respect her boundaries. I was in the dark and felt unprepared without any communication leading up to the court date. Instead of feeling guided or supported, I often felt dismissed and spoken to in a way that added to an already contentious situation. Additionally, I felt she was more inflammatory to my case than helpful; blatant attempts to provoke my ex in the court house with loud, obnoxious and quite frankly, odd behavior. I also felt that explanations of legal strategy and negotiations were vague, and I did not feel confident that I fully understood key decisions being made on my behalf until after the fact. This resulted in consequences that I later had to address with a different attorney at additional cost. Overall, I would not recommend this attorney, especially for anyone going through a high-conflict divorce who needs clear communication, support, and professionalism.

  Super traumatic time in my life and I wasn’t getting what I needed from my first lawyer. HJW told me she would take my case and to fire my atty which I did and while I was getting her $10k retainer together, her receptionist called me and told me HJW couldn’t take my case and if I had questions to call the bar association 🤯🤯🤯 no explanation, no nothing. I pleaded to understand what happened between a couple days prior when she said she would take my case to the day I got that call. Just left me high and dry with no lawyer. I’ve not done one thing wrong to this human and she treated me like garbage. No care. Fast forward 2 years later and she’s representing my now ex brother in law. Very telling. Just sad sketchy and unprofessional.
