  After playing phone tag I finally had a consultation with an individual who was dismissive at best. A few times I had to repeat myself, as well as fight the urge to state I am not stupid. Several comments were made as if he were speaking to a child. I understand the need for simplicity, however that can be done without offense. I then asked for the retainer to be sent to me via email for review, and was told they “don’t do that”. Also, they apparently wanted 40% of the settlement awarded. I was considering it until I realized I’d be dealing with someone who will spam call me when it is convenient for them- but can’t send a 30 second email detailing what the fees are.

  Came in with super anxious status. Also with English as a second language and lawyers speaking usually very fast, I was ready to cry when I walked into the building. When I came into Mr. Wilson’s office, his calm demeanor calmed me down a bit and he started to speak at my pace using lay person’s word. He was also writing down everything I said. I left being satisfied, and I didn’t cry. One year later, I had to call him for the same thing. He called me back. I was very surprised that he actually reviewed his notes before he called me back and shared every detailed of my case. Oh my goodness! I came to his office first because I couldn’t get any lawyer call me back, and my church friend recommended him and I got him call me back the same day. So many times we deal with enough with legal battles already, and we need lawyers that could emphasize with us, and ready to share burden with us.
