My husband died last year, and I needed a lawyer's review of our Estate Trust Documents that were drawn up in South Carolina to determine if they were legal here in Georgia so I could avoid probate. Ms. Erwin met with me within a couple of days of my call to her office. She reviewed the documents expeditiously and informed me that the documents were legal in Georgia and that I could avoid probate. What a relief! She was personable, professional, and quite easy to talk with. Her consultation fee was very reasonable, especially compared to other Trust and Estate attorneys I spoke with by phone. In other words, she was terrific all around! Her friendly assistant Lynn was also easy to work with, very knowledgeable and professional. You can't choose a better Estate Planning attorney to work with than Ms. Leslie A. Erwin.

Frequently Asked Questions About Leslie A. Erwin, P.C.
If I have a will, do I have to go through probate?
It depends on your specific situation. Probate is generally necessary if you have assets held solely in your name upon death that others cannot access without legal authority. Having a will doesn't automatically bypass the probate process.
How can I avoid probate?
Creating a comprehensive estate plan that includes a revocable trust can help you bypass the probate process. This legal arrangement allows your assets to transfer directly to beneficiaries without court intervention.
How can I avoid litigating a probate matter?
The most effective way to prevent probate litigation is through thorough pre-planning with a carefully structured estate plan. Proactive planning significantly reduces the likelihood of disputes among beneficiaries and challenges to your estate.
