  If you are looking for a divorce lawyer, I would not recommend this law firm based on my experience. There were several mistakes in my divorce decree. For example, they did not specify the date when I was supposed to receive my share of the property, which resulted in me having to pay another lawyer to help address the issue. I also have a serious concern about the way the 5% deduction from the property appraisal was written in the decree. The appraisal was $460,000, so 5% is $23,000. The decree says that 5% is to be deducted from the appraised value, but it does not clearly explain why that 5% is being deducted. When I went back and asked the paralegal about the 5%, she seemed confused about it. I had to explain that I understood the 5% to be related to the costs that would normally be considered when selling the property. However, because of the way the divorce decree was written, the closing attorneys are following the language in the decree rather than what I understood or what I was told afterward. What is especially frustrating is that the decree also says I am responsible for half of the refinancing costs. As a result, I am now facing of having the $23,000 5% deduction taken from my share, plus having to pay half of the refinancing costs. I feel that these issues should have been explained clearly and addressed correctly when my divorce decree was prepared. Because of these mistakes and the additional expenses I have incurred, I am very disappointed with my experience and would recommend that anyone considering this law firm carefully review their divorce decree before signing or finalizing it.
