  I had a bad experience with Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor. In 2020, I paid to have Tracy Crider prepare a will and as part of the preparation I was guaranteed that small future modifications would be performed for no additional charge. In 2026, I attempted to make a small modification (substituting one name) but Tracy Crider had left the firm. Instead I paid a new consultation fee to Marlys Bergstrom and she agreed to make the necessary modifications to the will. However, before she completed this work she also left the firm. Now Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor is refusing to complete this work without another consultation fee and additional retainer even though I was guaranteed that updates to the will would be included as part of my initial contract in 2020. This firm does not honor its commitments and it seems they cannot retain staff. I don't recommend using them for any legal services.

  I have nothing but the upmost praise and respect for Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor. This is a Law firm that understands the bottom line when it comes to a family’s sensitivity and needs. I’ve retained attorneys from this firm on numerous occasions and every time they have been available for me, they’ve demonstrated great patience with me ,and they have led my cases to winning results that have helped set my family and I up for a brighter future. Lillian Bristow is an attorney from this firm I most recently had the pleasure of working with. Her determination to fight the good fight is what helps put me at ease.
