  When our daughter was facing a full expulsion from her elementary school, our family felt scared, overwhelmed, and helpless. We believed the punishment being administered was unjust and that there were other possible factors that may have contributed to the incident she was accused of. We were also deeply concerned that the school did not even bother nor offer to properly evaluate our daughter for potential special education services or offer an Individualized Education Program (IEP), despite clear signs that such support may have been needed. Knowing the potential impact this could have on our daughter's future, we knew we had to fight for her rights.
