- CACory AndersonOct 19, 20251.0Very unhappy with the services provided. Fired Mr Mussetto halfway through the case and retained another lawyer. First of all I paid $10,000.00 to retain him for my divorce and child custody case. He showed up to the temporary hearing running late, he didn’t know my ex wife’s name, he hadn’t looked over any evidence at all, and don’t say hardly anything during the temporary hearing. Fast forward a few months and was served for contempt of court. I provided all of my evidence and defense to Mr Mussetto and we went to the hearing. Once again he barely knew anything about the case. He did not study or review any information. He stuttered several times and didn’t dispute anything they were saying. Due to his lack of objection and lack of preparation for the case, I was found in contempt and they took custody of my kids temporarily and gave me supervised visitation. This was due to me having a coworker around my children that my ex wife’s said was a girlfriend. (She worked for me). Then Mr Mussetto sent me an email and said my retained was depleted and I would need to send him another $10,000.00 to continue fighting my case. I told him he hadn’t done $10k worth of work and he said well it is what it is. He had only been to a 15 minute hearing and a 30 minute hearing with no preparation for either event. How in the world did he use of $10k. Needless to say I contacted another attorney and they took care of everything. They immediately filed an appeal and got me my custody back. By the final hearing I received 50/50 joint custody of my children which is honestly unheard of for a male in the state of South Carolina. John would not refund any money either due to him claiming to have spent it up. When they transferred my file to the new lawyer the file was almost empty. Beware of John Mussetto. His front desk lady is wonderful and very professional but John was lacking in every sense. He will not prepare nor will he fight for you!
