I attended an event in Marietta, OH with Tim Jarvis, which I found posted on Facebook. The American Legion was packed!! In the hours that Tim Jarvis spoke, he was very professional, as well as his appearance. He fluently spoke for 2 hours regarding estate planning, and ways he could help us avoid Probate or as much as possible. He touched on many topics, and then explained them. He appears to me to be very genuine. He wants to help individuals so they can keep as much of their assets protected as possible & hopefully be prepared for the time when you or you're spouse goes into long term care. After his presentation, he answered questions for over an hour as well. He's had over 20 years experience, along with his presentations, makes me feel better about choosing his firm. He has children of his own and can relate with other parents planning for their children after we are gone. At this time, I haven't had any work performed by him. He made me feel comfortable enough to consider it though! Thank you so much for providing a free platform to help educate us!

I felt like this was a really off business and they wanted me to pay a retainer without even having met the attorney I would work with for preparing a trust. I don’t think this is the kind of people I want to do business with. It felt very shark salesman / used car sales to me rather than a professional attorney based conversation. Probably because after spending a significant amount of time repeating the same information in phone calls, on paper, and meeting with a sales person not an expert; that’s what you get.

This office offered a free consultation which I scheduled and sent considerable personal information to familiarize the attorney with my situation and needs. When offered a plan of service, I asked to be given some time to consider the proposal. At that point I was literally abandoned in the conference room. The impression I left with is that the attorney expected to gain a client and a retainer fee; if that was not accomplished at the time, he was not interested in my business. I feel that this behavior is not indicative of a professional with whom I would be comfortable working.

My friend had a will done with this form and has spoken with two attorneys. They set him up with appointments to talk to long term care associate and the person was not there and they never told him. He sat in the waiting area for 10 minutes and they moved him into another room for another 15 minutes and no one came in. He got ready to exit the binding and they were all apologetic. And they were sorry the person was running behind and they could not provide an answer as to why they did not convey this to him. Phone calls are not returned regularly. One person went in her honeymoon and NEVER called back. He had to call them back regarding the long term care person and the man that called back chatted briefly and my friend stated his health had changed and the man said that will make the quoted amount I have for you go up. My friend never received the quote or the amount the price was going to be And poor explanation for an area of his will that he elected to request a change for regarding a persons name and they refuse to change not stating they cannot delete the name unless he pays an additional $6500 for a new will. People beware my friend had a unpleasant experience to say the least with this firm and still had to pay for the poor customer service he received.

Frequently Asked Questions About Jarvis Law Office, P.C.

What are asset protection services and why are they important for the elderly?

Asset protection services are legal strategies aimed at safeguarding the assets of elderly individuals from potential risks, such as lawsuits, creditors, or excessive taxation. Individuals may face increased vulnerability to financial exploitation, nursing home costs, or legal disputes as they age. Asset protection helps shield their personal property and wealth, ensuring their long-term financial goals are not compromised.

What are some important aspects of asset protection law for the elderly?

Asset protection law encompasses various legal options and tools tailored to protect the elderly’s assets. One commonly used tool is the domestic asset protection trust (DAPT), which allows individuals to transfer assets into a trust while retaining some control and enjoying protection from creditors.
