  TL:DR Use Jim, he's fantastic. A divorce/dissolution, especially after years of marriage, is not easy. Going in I had no idea what to expect except that the mediator was technically supposed to be a neutral third party. Given the situation, I had a hard time in believing in the actual neutrality of the mediator. Jim walked that tight rope with grace and poise. During the initial consultation he walked us through every step of the process and every part of the form he needed from us. I left the meeting feeling well informed and like Jim had the best interest of the mediation in mind. Throughout the whole process he was able to assist both of us with all of our questions and dealt with any issues that arose with grace. I later realized why Jim was able to be such a great neutral party, it's because he wasn't on my side or the other person's side, he was on the side of the success of the mediation. This allowed him to work with both of us in a way that made both of us feel heard. As I said at the top, use Jim, you won't regret it.

  Jim was one of the few steady, reassuring parts of an incredibly difficult life transition. He was consistently responsive to texts, emails, and calls, and was always flexible with scheduling sessions. His accessibility alone made the process feel far less overwhelming. What truly sets Jim apart is his integrity and compassion. He genuinely works toward making things fair and equitable without pressuring either party. He’s highly knowledgeable and explained complex legal processes in a way that was easy to understand. When we hit impasses, Jim remained calm and never pushed for resolution just to fill time, choosing instead to pause and return when progress was possible. It’s clear that mediation isn’t just a job for Jim. He truly cares about the people he serves. I’m deeply grateful for his guidance and would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone facing the dissolution process.
